Well here is a blast from my past circa 1987. See if you can spot me in the background of John Stossel’s “PHOTON” news piece from ABC’s 20/20. You can see me suiting up some players at 2:00 and 4:25 . In 1987, I was working at “PHOTON” when this report was being filmed. In fact it was one of three jobs I was holding down at that time. Photon was the name of the first commercial lasertag arenas. The company also came out with a home lasertag game, and there were various media tie-ins: a TV show also called Photon and a series of novels by Peter David.

Which version of that film do you watch? I’ve only seen the director’s cut, which I think tends to drag on at times, especially at the beginning. Does the shorter running time of the theatrical cut make it more bearable?

I was watching the Director’s Cut, and yes I feel the theatrical is a little bit better. The scenes with the family at the start of the film are so cheesy. The 80’s hair styles also stand out.

When I first saw this Klingon ship concept I thought immediately of “Stargate: Atlantis”. And that is not a good thing.

There was a move called “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” from 2002 with Sam Rockwell. I know we talked about that film here a few months (years) back.

Because much of this music was not heard in the film I tend not to fully consider it just a soundtrack album.
