I was being sarcastic. There was no original “Star Trek” book(s) before the original T.V. series. Walter Koenig (like the other original series actors) molded and created the character over time based on various scrips by various writers. The actors in “Star Trek” (2009) and “Star Trek Into Darkness” seem to be doing impressions of the original series actors playing the roles that they had developed. I can see enjoying an actor more, but Koenig essentially owns that character.
