the original, the classic, Stagecoach.  Its a great movie, everyone should be required to watch it once.

I consider myself a fan of the cinema, yet I have never seen a John Ford western.  I did get out to Monument Vally, AZ once, but it was in the middle of one of the worst dust storms in years. I saw noting but red/brown clouds, and destroyed the paint job on the rental car.

First time I ever saw this.  Great film with powerful script and strong acting.

Gritty and violent. I loved it! Early 70's films set in New York City have such a wonderful look to them.  You could feel the urban decay. Nothing beats on-location NYC. Films unsuccessfully try, and try again  to recreate that setting on back lots and re-dressing other urban locations around the world to look like NYC. But nothing is like the Big Apple, and you can always spot the phony.

The Incredible Hulk - The Extended Cut
Time

I'm glad that someone is taking this on, and I wish you much success.

T.I.H. is such an under rated film. I think Edward Norton did so much for that film, and it's a real shame (but no shock) that his character input ideas were disregarded and unwelcome by the producers and director.  When they have a talented and appropriate actor in the title role, I want to see more character development and a much more talkative script. It's only when you have goof ball glam boys and no talent bombshells in these action films (See any Michael Bay film for an example) that I just want explosions, some naked nipple, a few cheesy one liners, and a plot hole filled quick to the finish ending.

Idea: a Star Trek 2009 Extended Cut?

A weird thought... is anyone else put off by the idea that the Kobayashi Maru is "Spock's test"?

I felt that it was a bit too much myself. But it kind of keeps continuity in that in Star Trek V, Spock was the one who designed the escape proof brig cells for Star Fleet. I just felt this new gag was another of the films nods to the old original cast formula. The movie is full of them.

Audio Topic: Stereo to Surround up-mixing
Time

Any of you out there fans of the art of taking stereo recordings and up-mixing them to surround or DTS for playback on a 5.1 home theater system? I have finally set up my home system, and have been obtaining some very interesting fan-made DTS and 5.0 conversions of classic albums. It's more then just making a fake 4-way audio picture with left and right channels. At least it seems much more involved by what I am hearing within the audio picture. The sound separation and effect on some of The Beatles and Pink Floyd albums are truly impressive. The fan creators do this up-mixing by using audio software such as Adobe Audition or Nuendo 4, and free plug-ins like VST plugin suite.

I would love to learn more about this possess, and try up-mixing some film soundtracks on my own.  "Blade Runner", "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Thunderball" would be at the top of my list.  But, there are so many great powerful soundtracks that would be thrilling in surround.

Before I start on such a intensive research project, I wanted to check around here first, and see if any of you had any personal favorite fan made Surround or DTS conversions.  It does not have to be limited to Soundtracks, it can be any style of music.
