Mork & Mindy's Son Mirth = Bad Idea
Mork & Mindy's Son Mirth = Bad Idea
Oliver killed the Brady Bunch (and hid the bodies in the basement that was never seen)
"The Living Daylights"
Too much change of location. Nice to see a new Bond, but a new director and writing team was also needed. Seems needlessly dragged out and a bit too tame in the sex department for a 007 romp. John Rhys-Davies was a welcome bit of emergency last moment casting. Hhe was called in to replace the Russian General Gogol character. The actor Walter Gotell sadly became too sick to perform all of the required lines and actions originally scripted for Gen. Gogol, so his character was given a small role at the end of the movie. A nice fresher John Barry score this time (his swan song for the series). No classic menacing master mind villain to hold things together in this film. Just a bunch of whiny and spoiled crooks. The new Money Penny was quite un-interesting and forgettable. Come on, Barry Manilow records? Dalton and she have no chemistry whatsoever. Also, this film has the worst Felix Lighter of them all. His inclusion was totally unnecessary, and totally miscast. Seems like they wanted to included everything they could think of to connect this to the rest of the series, including Max, the parrot from "For Your Eye's Only".

Oh hey, guess what guys?!?!?
I'm going on a safari to Namibia, and I get to meet the Himba tribe! It's going to be kickass.
Sounds like an exciting adventure. Don't forget to pack your fedora and whip!.
"Never Say Never Again"
So much potential, so much disappointment.
Spooky!
I think that this thread has been dead a long time...

Police Story II-Lacks a really great villain, but this one crams in so many stunts and setpieces that you can't help but like it. Pure fun.
3.5 kung-fu deaf mutes out of 4 balls.
I don't know about this. I felt that Bobcat Goldthwait's Zed was a much stronger villain then the un-named bad guy in the original. Oh, am I think of the wrong film again? *wink*
"A View to a Kill"
Starts with some great snow bound Bond vs. USSR action, but all to soon turns into one of the worst and cheesiest lame joke and cliche riddled films of the entire sires. The producers must have felt that giving Roger Moore yet another round as James Bond was an appropriate 100th birthday gift. This film has very few redeeming qualities. John Barry's return is welcome, but his scores are now starting to sound a bit too alike. Besides the main title music and the overly repeated action theme, most of the music seems to be a re-hash of his "Octopussy" and "Moonraker" scores. The casting is just as horrible as the script is. This film is just too bad to write anything more about it.
"For Your Eyes Only"
One of the better of the Moore era Bond's. This film has much more of the Ian Fleming styles sprinkled over it, yet it still suffers in places. Moore is again too old to be playing this role, and it's a bit distracting. A wispy romantic John Barry score is sadly missing, and what we do get (brass heavy disco themes and synthesizer muzak for low budget orchestra) dates the film. The director John Glen, is well suited for action, but his character interaction scenes are dull and un-inspired. This film had great locations, a good cast (excepting the bratty sex-starved skater and the stuffy fop that is replacing "M"). Topol is one of the best Bond allies in years, and the actor has so much personality that a bad director can do little to harm his reputation. The ice rink fight scene, the chopper vs. Wheelchair villain with cat (Blofeld?), "Q"'s segment, the Indentigraph scene, and the Olympian Hit man hurling his broken motorcycle at Bond sticks out as being the only cringe worthy and un-needed segments of this film. Bond and Girl being dragged over a coral field in shark infested waters, the climb up the rock face, the assault on the villains' dock-side warehouse, and the ski chase on the bobsled run, are some of the best moments in the entire Bond series.
"Octopussy"
This is one of the worst of the Bonds. The theme song lyrics should have been "He's an old time guy", not "It's an all time high". Moore is way too old, and I was truly embarrassed for the younger females that had to faun over and suggest they slept with this geezer. The back-screen effects are particurly horrendous and obvious in this film. I don't know why people rate "Moonraker" as worse then this one. I'll take a Space Station over a second rate Circus motif any day.

I now have about 200 titles.

Quick question: do records really have better sound quality than CDs, or is that just hot air coming from nostalgic old fogies?

The 2002 re-make of "Solaris". I plan to look at the original soon.
"Solaris"
Not the most exciting film, but it had some great moments of strangeness.
