Trailer is almost complete! Just gotta check for audio issues before I begin work on uploading it.
Finally shaved that trailer down to 2 minutes and 29 seconds! Now for the audio part. š¬
Will do, Cam! Iāve cut that 25 minutes down to 10 as of the last time I posted. Iāll probably begin assembling it the next time I boot up DaVinci Resolve.
Yes, Iām aware that Iāve gone silent here. As a few visitors on fanedit.org have probably figured out, I am one of the names listed on the Red Apple Crewās latest endeavor with Clint Eastwood. Because the crew wishes to keep things hush hush, all I can say for now is that Iāve been busy with the āepisodeā and Iāve been preoccupied with that one over the last few months. Fortunately, my contribution to the Red Apple Crew is almost complete, and Iām now able to get back and return to Batman. Iām now working on assembling a trailer for Batman Forever at this time. Iāve managed to cut things down to 25 minutes worth of footage, but thatās still a lot to cut down to a 2 1/2 minute length. Iām not sure how long itās gonna take me to complete the trailer, but hopefully, it should make up for my mysterious disappearance on here.
Starcrash. Iāve finally watched a sci fi film that is worse than the Star Wars Holiday Special. One of the worst films i have ever seen, worse than At the Earthās Core even.
This movie has a cult following, and I just donāt get it. Caroline Munroās hot. Big whoop. T&A alone canāt elevate a bad movie to so-bad-itās-good.
Maybe it depends on the crowd, but I remember seeing it at a special screening with a few hundred B-movie fans and thought it was hilarious.
I did some binge-watching on a lot of B-movies and Roger Corman movies last year (Star Crash being one of them), and my experiences are hit-or-miss. It either entertains me or it doesnāt. Iāve watched plenty of b-movies that left me bored despite the rabid fanbase. While other times, I watch one that is universally despised by everyone else, but ends up being an unintentional comedy riot that makes my night.
I guess when it comes to b-movies, it truly is a subjective experience, even more so than with more āartisticā films. When you watch a movie thatās supposed to be good, there is a real effort to make it something more universally applicable to everyone. This is why people take it personally when someone says they hate, say, The Shawshank Redemption. Thatās rarely the case with a cheesy b-movie where rookie mistakes are made on a consistent basis. Either those technical blunders are gonna get a laugh out of you, or youāre just gonna notice their existence and be reminded youāre not invested in whatās going on.
Tl;dr: the entertainment level of a b-movie is variable in my world, and if someone doesnāt like Star Crash, I understand why. Not everyone has to laugh at the same things.
Submission approved! Calling it released now.
Edit uploaded for now. Sending PMās.
Found out the subtitles on the commentary track are going too fast. Iāll work on fixing that up, but with that said, I think itās time to get the edit uploaded. Better now than in November. Keep in mind that if youāre planning on reading the commentary, the subtitles are gonna be a little fast. Excuse that mistake for now. Iāll send an update when the commentary issue is fixed and Iāve reuploaded it.
Commentary is done! I did have plans to work on the subtitles next, but something has come up on fanedit.org. I wonāt say what it is, because itās top secret stuff I canāt share, but because of it, I am faced with no other choice but to start work on releasing this edit sooner rather than later. And since itās the month of October, thereās no better time to prepare a submission on fe.org than now. My only fear is if I run into the same problem I had last time with my Eyes Wide Shut edit where my submission kept disappearing. Still, Iām keeping my fingers crossed that this time will be different.
105 minutes into the commentary, and less than 40 minutes to go! š
Almost 60 minutes in with the subtitles.
95 minutes into the commentary, and finished with discussing the difficult and painful decision to cut out Wednesdayās summer camp adventure.
Elemental (2023)
I admit, my expectations were low, and I only watched this out of peer pressure and boredom. The result was mostly what I expected it to be. I suppose the romance is sweet, but thatās the only thing I liked. Itās hard not to watch this without thinking of Zootopia, which handled its racial subtext far better than this. The jokes were mostly puns I didnāt like, and the āfollow your passionā message has been done approximately 25,000,000 times prior to this film. Itās not the worst thing Pixar has ever done, but I still wouldnāt recommend it nonetheless. How this film managed to pull off its box office miracle is a mystery to me.
I too would be happy to view the finished cut. š
Will do, Cam!
Started work on the text-only commentary! About 15 minutes in to it.
Commentary track is now 85 minutes done! Iām more than halfway through it!
This film was the first one I ever remember watching on a borrowed VHS. Iāve collected a couple of different fanedits of it recently and would be particularly happy to see this one when itās done.
Iāll be happy to send that link when itās complete! š
First 45 minutes of subtitles done!
Got the computer unpacked, and as an extra treat, Iāve now made it to the Addams Family Values section for the text-only commentary! š
Computer is unpacked! Gonna resume work on the edit soon.
A saga-wide edit where all instances of and references to clones, the Clone Wars, etc. are changed to clowns. E.G.:
Episode II: Attack of the Clowns
āGeneral Kenobi, years ago, you served my father in the Clown Wars.ā
All clown trooper helmets are suitably painted and fitted with rubber noses. Whenever they file out of a ship, the shot is looped beyond all reason as dozens more than could conceivably fit scramble out, before the ship itself falls apart. Laser battles become pie fights. Variations on āEntrance of the Gladiatorsā are worked into the score.
AI Mark Hamilās Joker voice over the clones and Iām sold. Lol
Make it closer to Bozo the clown.
Iām moving in to a new apartment as I write this, so if Iām quiet over this week, thatās why. Iāll return to this project as soon as I get my computer unpacked.

None for right now. It releases when itās completed and/or submitted onto fanedit.org.
First half hour of subtitles done!
Just finished typing my commentary on the Mamushka.
