.: The X0 Project Discussion Thread :. (* unfinished project *)
Time
I live about 2 hours from Zion, and hes got an open invitation to come visit me, where he can try his product on some of my cool toys. I work in a high end hi fi shop, so he can try his discs on plasmas, DLP projectors, and terranex equipped DVD players. The Denon 5910 is equipped with a variation of the terranex processing. IMO, its the best PQ from any DVD player Ive seen.

Info & Help: looking for... other ld-rips to dvd movies ex. blade runner int cut, songs of the south, frighteners dir cut - and much much more...
Time
sorry if this has been mentioned:

From thedigitalbits.com

Universal has just announced for 11/29 The Frighteners: Director's Cut (SRP $26.98 - 123 minutes, unrated, anamorphic widescreen, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio)

We'll post additional details on The Frightners: Director's Cut as soon as we can (all we know now is what we've posted above, and that it's a single-disc release). No doubt it's an attempt on capitalize on Peter Jackson's visibility with his forthcoming King Kong remake, due in theaters on 12/14 (also from Universal).

If its a single disc release, it doesnt seem the 4.5 hour doc could be there.

Gundrosens SW covers(1-6+classic+bonus)
Time
Gundrosen, nice covers.

If i may interject my 2 cents... the plot descriptions on the back covers give away too much. I realize less than 1% of the populations has yet to see the OT, but someone may be actually watching them for the first time. The description on the back of Jedi basically gives away the first two thirds of the movie, and the back of empire reveals some major plot points and surprises.

I'm a bit lost there ... sorry ... When I edit video, I try to keep it as close as possible to the original, and I've never been really concerned about 16:9 screens since I watch the movie on my computer ... But to me 16:9 looks a bit "squeezed" ...

Hold on, I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Ludwig... the "original" IS widescreen!!!! All the posts you have seen in this thread represent how Star Wars looked in theaters... at least in aspect ratio (width x height). Your statement shows that you REALLY need to educate yourself in the ways of theatrical presentation and how it relates to proper presentation in the home. Widescreen is the only way to go. If 16x9 has always looked "squeezed" to you, you probably have had your display set up wrong. If you are watching on a 4x3 television, and your DVD player has been set to 16x9, then anamorphically enhanced DVDs would look wrong.

Check this link out.

Hey Zion, It could be the captures... or maybe even the faces edition....but I noticed some cropping on your captures... On Dr Gonzo and the Official release., you can see the back of the Imerial Officer' neck. Also, on the right hand side, you can see more of the stormtrooper shoulder. BTW your transfers are awesome. It makes me want to throw my Dr GOnzo transfers in the garbage. I cant wait to get copies from you!
