Info: OT Bootleg DVDs

Sorry Im a relative newbie here, and I didnt know that was your avator. I thought it was just one of a bunch of default ones created for whoever. I tried to make my own with photoshop, but I cant seem to get it to load. Any help or suggestions would be appriciated.

To anyone trying to make their own DVDs, its worth pointing out that 1993 definitive LDs and the 1995 "faces" LDs both contain a missing line of dialogue in episode IV. C3P0's line "The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations. A power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave." Is simply not there. In the 1989 Widescreen Laserdiscs, and the 1997 Special Edtions, the line is present. TR47s DVDs, being sourced from the Definitive Collection, is missing the line. I dont have the editing software to fix the problem.

empire strikes back question

Ive thought about this also. Mainly because after Vader stops Boba Fett from firing, and Han begins to calm Chewie, we see Leia look over at Vader, who simply stands and observes. Leia seems to sense that there must be a reason Vader did what he did. She then goes over to Han to say what could be her final words to him. Ive always wondered if Vader knew Leia was his daughter, or at least sensed there was something about her, and she should not be killed. Leia's importance to grand scheme of things, which would be revealed fully in JEDI, begins to show at that moment, followed shortly thereafter by her response to Luke's call for help, as he hangs underneath cloud city. Thats what I think anyway.

I may consider shipping internationally soon, but for now, Ive got too much on my plate to handle any extra projects. TR47, I took the liberty of redesigning the bonus disc cover art, if you are interested in it, I can send it to you. I basically got rid of "return of the jedi" across the top, and replaced it with "star wars". On the bottom, I got rid of "bonus" and replaced it with "the definiteve collection bonus materials. I am going to go one step further, however, and totallly new design of the bonus disc cover art.

Ive had a chance to look at all 4 dvds, and I must say Im VERY IMPRESSED. I had created my own DVDs with a Panasonic DMRE50 recorder, and those were great, but I think these may have an edge in the compression. These have slighty less digital artifacting, especially when it come to fast motion. I highly reccomend them to anyone considering.

Place making back up copies?
Time
Not sure why you posted in the "Theatrical vs Special Edition" forum but....

Technically its totally illegal for any commercial company to make copies of copyrighted material. So most legit place would turn you down. Secondly, You would have an imposibble time finding a place that even had the capabilty of doing it. I would be surprised if a video production company had a laserdisc player.

If you are looking to transfer some of your laserdiscs that are rare, are not available on DVD, or bonus features not available on DVD, than I may be interested in helping you out. I have the capability to do LD to DVD-R transfers. If you are looking to get your OT Laserdiscs of Star Wars transferred to DVD, I highoy reccomend purchasing copies already available from member TR47. Go to the general discussion forum, and look at the "bootleg DVD" thread. If its something else you have, contact me at nostromo777@hotmail.com if its something im interested in, Ill make you some copies if you send me your LDs.

TR47, I got the dvds today, and my initial impression is that they look great. I may post a more in depth review for everyone later on. One issue though; On the extra CD-R containing all the cover art, the cover art for the 4th supplemental disc is titled BONUS DISC, but uses a Poster for RETURN OF THE JEDI. This appears to indicate that the disc contains only features for ROTJ. Do you, or does anyone here, have coverart for the supplemetal disc?
