Hey, sorry, don’t mean to bother you but I noticed in your original post that you said you would eventually create BD menus for an iso. Did you ever get around to this as I can’t find it on the spleen. Thanks!

Nope, sorry. I was never able to get around to it. I don’t really use discs anymore, so I’m not really bothered about making it happen.

Ok no worries! I’m trying to mux the 3 videos to a single blu Ray iso and have them play in order (1-ot.com logo; 2-thx logo; 3-feature film) and I’ve had no luck 😦. Any way anybody would be able to help me? Help would be much appreciated!! Thanks!

Star Wars Holiday Special - Zion Hybrid v2 (Released)

Encore CS6 is definitely older, but I used it to author the Hybrid v2 DVD three years ago and I’m almost positive I had Windows 10 at the time. So it’s possible it could still work.

Personally, I’m of the opinion that if they no longer support it or offer a way to purchase it, it should be fair game to download by whatever means.

Yeah I’d probably go that route. IMO encore was always consistent with creating the best menus.

I pm’d the user, maybe we could work it out if he still had the recording on his dvr

Thank you!

I think that many of us have already PM’d him… and he is no more active for 5 years… But maybe you’ll be luckier 😃

Well my plan was to maybe ship him my capture card if he doesn’t want to tamper with his dvr hard drive

Ah, sadly I do not. I upgraded my system about a year ago and ended up reinstalling Windows. I opted not to install Encore at the time along with the rest of the CC apps, thinking I could just add it again when I needed it. Adobe CC used to give you that option to install older CS6 apps. I wonder if there’s an alternate way to download it.

Well if you still have the cs6 install discs then you can probably still install it. Alternatively there is piracy… I know it’s frowned upon but since adobe doesn’t even give you the option to legally purchase encore, would pirating the software be any different than downloading despecialized or the 4k## series? I guess it’s just a moral decision.

Nice, Rikter! Thanks for doing that.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Please keep it coming!

Sounds like I need to brush up on my blu-ray authoring skills. Any particular software people are using these days? I’ve used several DVD authoring programs in the past, including Scenarist and Adobe Encore.

I use encore but unfortunately that’s no longer in development so you can’t download it anymore. Hopefully you still have it installed 😕

Also, how do people do HD releases these days? Just a standard MKV or MP4 file, or do people do full on blu-ray authoring?

Please do both if you can! MKV is good for convenience but Blu-Ray is still better for quality (in my opinion) due to the way most new players (oppo 203/Panasonic ub-9000, I use the latter) handle upscaling of hd content on a blu ray. Team negative 1 does both for projects like 4k77 (they release an mkv and an HD blu ray) and honestly I prefer it that way. And plus, who doesn’t love the menus!

^ Going on that video I think he did know it was not okay to buy them mate…

The guy somehow glossed over and omitted the part of ‘Fan Edits must never be bought or sold’ on his video (around 7 mins in) - despite talking about what was on screen in detail before that particular line of text.

He also linked to the site - so he is very much aware that fan edits and preservations etc must never be bought and sold - and also likely aware that Harmy even made a video on the very subject, here:-

Yeah you’re probably right, maybe I just want to see the good in Star Wars fans all the time haha

so this douche freely admits he bought Harmy’s edits and then has the balls to post a link to this site…wow…just…wow…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaKodxJud-Q

Yeah I see what you mean but something tells me he didn’t really know that it wasn’t okay to buy these. He thinks that since he has the blu Ray cuts, than it’s okay to buy them. I’m sure if he found out that it wasn’t okay, he’d probably apologize. He seems like a genuine fan

One Word: GARBAGE!
These De-Specialized versions are the same as the Sequel Trilogy: An Insult to George Lucas, A Disgrace to the franchise, Fan-fiction, Pointless and Unnecessary!
I managed to get the theatrical cuts in very low resolutions (.avi) and I forgot how horrible it was back then.
Makes me appreciate even more the Special Editions and The Prequel Trilogy.

This might not be the right forum for you 😉
