Ha-ha, I thought this was about the movie. Which I hated.
Except for the B-17 segment. Admit it ;-)

This isn't really an off-topic topic. That being said, I'll bite.
1. John Williams' score
2. Ewan McGregor
3. Natalie Portman (from certain angles, and when she isn't talking)
4. Darth Maul
5. Maul's lightsaber
6. Ian McDiarmid pre-POWA!
7. The idea that the Jedi aren't perfect
8. Jango's armour
9. The idea of Dooku; Dooku the character sucked, though
10. Mace Windu's lightsaber
11. Grevious' design
12. That Anakin held onto his blue lightsaber after siding with Palpatine
and used it against Obi-Wan in their duel instead of immediately
replacing it with a red one

Why does Qui-Gon say "no thought of self" right after talking about the possibility of "avoiding oblivion" while retaining consciousness, and DEMONSTRATING THAT HIMSELF WHILE HE'S SPEAKING?
I think this one at least can slide. Quiggy's talk about "no thought of self" is probably about the absence of desires for material pleasures, possessions, rewards, things like that.
Of course, the whole retain-your-personality-and-obtain-immortality thing smacks of "thought of self" so ...

And I have to say DuracellEnergizer, before I opened this thread, I saw you avatar and read "What's wrong with this picture" and had a good laugh.
As funny as it is, it's not half as funny apart from the stupid Wookieepedia article I stole it from =D

Is the strange fact that Liam Neeson didn't have the time to figure out this secret and yet somehow he knows it anyway?

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! You're both right! So here's your frosty chocolate milkshakes!
Ah, Qui-Gon, you amazing bastard. To have learned how to merge with the Force and retain your personality after passing the point-of-no-return that is death is truly a sign that the midi-chlorians are strong in you. Kudos!
Well, it’s not a picture exactly; it’s a portion of the ROTS script. There is something iffy about it, though, something very iffy. If you can spot what it is, you’ll win a frosty chocolate milkshake!*
**222 INT. POLIS MASSA-OBSERVATION DOME-NIGHT
**On the isolated asteroid of Polis Massa, YODA meditates.
YODA: Failed to stop the Sith Lord, I have. Still much to learn, there is …
QUI -GON: (V.O.) Patience. You will have time. I did not. When I became one with the Force I made a great discovery. With my training, you will be able to merge with the Force at will. Your physical self will fade away, but you will still retain your consciousness. You will become more powerful than any Sith.
YODA: Eternal consciousness.
QUI-GON: (V.O.) The ability to defy oblivion can be achieved, but only for oneself. It was accomplished by a Shaman of the Whills. It is a state acquired through compassion, not greed.
YODA: . . . to become one with the Force, and influence still have . . . A power greater than all, it is.
QUI-GON: (V.O.) You will learn to let go of everything. No attachment, no thought of self. No physical self.
YODA: A great Jedi Master, you have become, Qui-Gon Jinn. Your apprentice I gratefully become.

I think they should make movies out of the Darth Bane series. Its dark, emotional and freakin' awsome! Those that love the Sith would definitly love if a movie was made based off these novels.
I can't wait!
Darth Bane and the Hunt for the Secret Holocron.
Darth Bane and the Search for the Hidden Holocron.
Darth Bane and the Quest for the Lost Holocron.
Yippie!
This picture from Wookieepedia.
Copyright holders sure like to abuse their rights.
I think that if George had used traditional effects for the majority of his additions (like an animatronic sarlacc beak, for example ) then they would be much easier to stomach. I for one wouldn't mind if he went this route for any further SEs.
Ezra.
Am I the one one who can't see anything after the first half of
spynet315's post?
I played a recorder - poorly - in elementary school, and have long forgotten anything I had ever learned about playing one.
Back in '94 I was only about seven years old and I hadn't yet seen any of the Star Wars films, so ...
I watched Beetlejuice last night for the first time since I was twelve; I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now.
Any ST Lucas would make would suck just as much as - if not more than - the PT, especially since characters from the OT would undoubtedly feature in it and suffer character derailment in the process.
Imagine CGI Luke bouncing up and down like a goddamn rabbit on speed, twirling his lightsaber like some luminous green baton. I wouldn't want to see that and neither would you.
The story of the ST exists for me in the EU. If I want to explore the trials and tribulations of the fledgling New Republic and their victory over the Imperial remnants then I'll read some books and comics penned by better writers than ol' Georgy Porgy.
I've been into the EU since I was eleven. When the only films that existed were the three original films, the books and comics allowed to explore that universe further.
The bad and ugly of the EU may outweigh the good, but the good is good enough for me to keep me interested; I like roughly 50% of it.

I've been reading the PT EU, so i've no idea who the hologram women is.
Perhaps he's refering to Callista from Children of the Jedi.
The lack of a real love interest in the films and in the small amount of EU I had read at the time gave me that impression.
I'll admit that back in the day I thought Luke was asexual.
Billie Jean am my hater. She say I am not the one, but the kid am my daughter.

How is Star Wars anymore ridiculous than a magical lady who lives in a lake or a a quarrel among goddesses to determine the most beautiful that starts a war?
Funny I should read this after having watched Excalibur last night.

Also, maybe a question for another thread but can anyone name a decent prequel film?
Well, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is considered a prequel to the other two films in the Dollars trilogy ...
Then there is Temple of Doom, though I know alot of fans have mixed feelings about the movie ...
The only Star Wars toys I ever had as a kid was a TIE fighter & Y-wing LEGO kit, and I never really played with them.
There was a Charles Bronson movie on when I was assembling them, though I don't recall the name of it.
I guess my favourite Jedi is Luke.
As for which Jedi I would choose to be ... any Jedi that carries a pair of lightsabers with red and teal blades =D
