Star Wars Marvel "Special" Issue: Did they "sneak in" Luke's Father?
Time

I read the story, and I do think "Vanilla Ice" there was intended to be Anakin. With Vader and Anakin having been merged into one character, I suppose you can just retcon "Vanilla Ice" into being another Jedi that accompanied Ben and Anakin on their mission to Kharys' world, and that Vader later lied and claimed to be this Jedi when he returned to the planet following his fall and transformation.

Frankenstein (1931) - 5.5/10

And before anyone comes around to criticise my ranking, I'll just say in my defense that I liked Karloff's acting a lot, and the beginning (wonderfully creepy and expressionistic, that cemetery set was), but the whole comes off seeming a lot less than the sum of its parts to me.

Of course, I was kind of tired when I watched it, and I kept dozing off, so perhaps my ranking would be higher were I to watch it in a clearer state of mind.

Alien wasn't intended to portray an alternate future in which we never progressed beyond CRTs or regressed to CRTs or whatever; it's just that that's what was available (within budget, feasible, etc) to the filmmakers. If you gave the Alien team easy access to flatscreens or CGI-holograms back then, I bet they would have used those instead.

It's funny, though, that the film adaptation of Fahrenheit 451 managed to depict homes with flatscreen TVs, and that was made in 1966.

Connection between the Telomere tail of human DNA and midi-chlorians?
Time

Would it be so hard to come up with a retcon that says "The midi-chlorians are microscopic parasites that infest multicellular carbon-based life to feed off of their Force energy. Midi-chlorians cannot be removed from their hosts, as midi-chlorians alter the DNA of their vessels, making them dependant on the microbes for their continued survival. Midi-chlorians do not create or channel the Force, though they do have the potential to wield it; experienced Force users can harness that potential and put it to whatever work they desire through manipulation of the midi-chlorians"?

Hell, unlike most retcons, this wouldn't be like cutting a square peg to fit a round hole; it pretty much can work with what's already been established rather easily.
