Random Thoughts

I used to think the TV series Mutant X was teh shit, but now, in hindsight, I recognize that it was just shit, period. It pandered to stupid teens, the writing was extremely poor, and the characterization pathetic - there were only two good characters on the entire show, and they were killed off for no goddamned good reason. All-in-all, it deserved to be cancelled in the unceremonious fashion that it was.

On the plus side, it didn't have any already-extant legacy to tarnish like its contempory Smallville did.

What do you LIKE about the EU?

This picture sucks. No, more than that, it fucking sucks. It defiles the entire EU - past, present, and future - with its very existence. This picture wiped out the dinosaurs. Every murderer who has ever existed has been retroactively inspired by this picture. When this picture was created, the cosmos compensated by introducing entropy into the universe. And, more than anything, it proves that God doesn't exist, that even if He did exist, He would be purely, unambiguously - even from His own point of view - evil.

He glorifies everything that's wrong with Hollywood, so I can't help but dislike the guy.

Interesting comment for an artist who managed to control his destiny totally divorced from Hollywood. He has absolute control over his production, and answers to no one, which is pretty much the exact opposite of Hollywood.

The independent spirit is only appreciated when it makes what we like.

I don't refer to Hollywood the corporation, but Hollywood the spirit. Lucas embraces the spirit wholeheartedly, regardless of whether he offers sacrifices to the corporation or not.

Ugh, I really hope that never happens. The writers over at Dark Horse have Star Wars DOWN. They've consistently been generating the best Star Wars content for years now.

Rehashing the same old and stupid Jedi vs. Sith stuff ad nauseum is generating the best Star Wars content? Lord, this franchise really has gone in the garbage masher.

Has anyone ever unearthed the Kurtz Jedi script? Or at least a more in depth treatment that just one sentence (Han rescued, dies in attack on Imperial base, Leia becomes Queen, Luke wonders off)?

Queen of what? In the first film she was the princess of a planet that was destroyed and was mostly using the "princess" thing as a ruse to cover the fact that she was a leader of the Rebel military on a secret mission. it's not like she was princess of the galaxy..

Queen of the surviving Alderaanians.

The still construction of London After Midnight (1927)

Now that I know the story, I have no interest in seeing the film even if a copy is somehow discovered, restored, and made available to the public. Except for The Village, I've never once enjoyed these "bait and switch" movies, and nothing here convinces me this film would be any exception.

5/10 (for the reconstruction, of course; the film itself is unratable)
