General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

I like Chiang's skills as an artist (personally, I feel he's the only artist to work on the PT whose paintings have a very McQuarriesque look and feel to them) but I still have to say that doesn't necessarily make the designs he's come up with stellar in and of themselves (I do have a fondness for the silver starcruisers, though, and the overall look of he had for Obi-Wan).

In this one, it's briefly glanced upon:

If you haven't seen this one, don't read any synopsis, you'll spoil it!

Oh, I've seen it. I can clearly remember the dislike I had for those kids and my overall dissatisfaction with the film as a whole.

William Shatner's cover of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is hilariously bad.

True! It's nothing compared to: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ_duzQzS1I

Aw, c'mon! At least Leonard can actually sing!

Anyway ... I kinda like that song. *blush*

The Butterfly Room (2012)

I've been wanting to see this movie for months now, and I wish I could say that it was amazing and that I loved it, but it was just simply adequate.

The story worked, the direction - while nothing stellar - was decent, the way the whole butterfly collecting aspect of the film tied into the plot was morbidly quaint, and it was interesting to see Barbara Steele in a modern movie. The score could have been better, however, and the characters more fully developed - with the sole exception of Barbara Steele's character, everyone came off as rather flat and - for lack of a better term - nebulous; this is especially true for Heather Langenkamp's character, who - especially in light of the film's ending - should have had more scenes devoted to her (and no, I'm not just saying this as a diehard fan who needs a Langenkamp fix).
