A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 should be demoted to semi-canon status while ANOES 4, 5, 6, and Freddy vs. Jason should be decanonized altogether.

Maybe they figure since the EU's gonna get at least a partial reboot with the release of Episode VII, it'd be a waste of money to print a book showcasing a host of characters who'll be rendered non-canon in the near future.

I think the biggest thing going against the NJO is that it paved the way for the really shittastic Legacy era.

The Sith return, another member of the Skywalker clan falls to the dark side, there's another galactic civil war, the Empire is reborn, the Jedi are once against hunted down to near-extinction by the Sith -- bleech! It actually makes the PT look good by comparison!

Perhaps they also want the spirit of Darth Bane to return in one of Palpatine's clone bodies.

I love 'em both. They obviously taste different, though; one's salty and crunchy, the other sweet and sour.

This reminds me too much of how my parents are against euthenizing pets. But nevermind -- I'm not going to get into that BS here.

As for the pets I own -- I have four dogs (one who has anophthalmia or microphthalmia; in either case, he's blind) and seven cats (one of whom has gone more-or-less feral.)

Frankly, I like the scene. Besides, I like to ponder on what is running through Vader's mind while all the lovey dovey stuff between Han & Leia's going on.

Is it weird for a conservative/liberal person to support another person's right to be liberal/conservative even though they don't support their politics?

Personally, I like the idea of the Vong; a technophobic race of sadomasochists who use organic technology and can't be perceived through the Force is a rather interesting concept.

However, I'm not exactly pleased with how the concept was executed, I don't like that the Yuuzhan Vong War occurred right after the Galactic Civil War came to a final close, and I don't like how it impacted the main cast of the SW Expanded Universe.

IMO, the NJO era should have taken place thousands of years into the future, after everyone from the OT, their children, etc. were long gone, sort of like a reversed Tales of the Jedi.

For emotional resonance. The scene wouldn't have much in the way of gravitas if it was just Vader and a few ugnaughts in the room dipping Han into the vat.
