The new Star Wars comics - a general discussion thread

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but it almost feels like artists working on these are being forced to draw in a certain style. That stiff, lifeless, traced-photography look... It's as if getting the resemblance right comes before the storytelling.

I think stiff, lifeless, traced-photography artwork has become a trademark of the Big Two (DC & Marvel, that is). It certainly isn't a new thing for them.

Last web series/tv show seen
Time

I've recently begun to re-watch the American version of Hi-5 -- a musical kids' TV show -- on YouTube.

As it's a show that came out in 2003 -- when I was, what, 16? 17? -- and never actually saw 'til late 2007, it's not a show I associate with my childhood. Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching it because I had the hots for Jennifer Peterson-Hind and because I found the songs catchy.

Now, though, I'm primarily enjoying it for how utterly corny and batshit insane it is.

The thread for the serious discussion that started in the "Am I a Bully?" thread.

Er... maybe I'm campaigning for Vice Mayor of Crazy Town here, but I believe DrCrow is using a little thing called "hyperbole" to illustrate his point.  I could be wrong, but I think he is saying "here are the alternatives in stamping out bullying- either you completely infringe on all human rights, or you teach people to stop empowering bullies by caring what they have to say".

This is another reason why these forums need searchable post histories. It'd be relatively simple to figure out the various personality quirks of the various posters with a read-through of some of their earlier posts.

Star Wars: The New Dawn (The First Episode in DuracellEnergizer's New PT Re-Write) *COMPLETE*
Time

Looking back, I realize that I should have written this screenplay in the frame of mind that it was a largely B&W film -- with only the dreams/visions/hallucinations and the final lightsaber duel in colour -- so as to completely run with the idea of the movie being filmed as if it were made forty years before the original film (1977 - 40 = 1937).

It's too late now, though -- I definitely am not going to go back through it to make the tiny needed alterations.
