In the movie Stargate, there a shot where Anubis and Horus bow before Ra's sarcophagus right before it begins to open. I've always preferred the pan-and-scan version of that shot over the widescreen.
It you're willing to settle for a formerly-ostensibly-canon-thing-which-is-now-a-completely-non-canon-thing from the EU, then a year in the SW Galaxy is either ten months long or twelve months long (as one would expect from the EU, there's a lack of consistency).

Those books you love are still around, right? They haven't magically faded from existence, have they? Then continue to read them and continue to enjoy them. It doesn't matter worth a damn if Lucasfilm/Lucas Licensing/Disney/whatever considers them "true" or not -- its all fiction, anyway, so none of it is true. If the stories still resonate with you, accept them as part of your personal canon and move on.

It was relatively easy for me to avoid spoilers for the prequels when they came out; I simply didn't own a computer with Internet access at the time. =P
I for one wouldn't have been able to enjoy watching an EU-faithful ST knowing it was sandwiched between the lousy Legacy of the Force and Legacy series'.

Regarding Vader's "Bring my shuttle", while I found it full of frustration, I never saw any outright anger in it. IMO, Vader came off as being annoyed more than anything else.

Since becoming a fan of the 1985 Jennifer Connelly film Phenomena, I learned that the Japanese made a video game for the SNES that was inspired by the movie -- Clock Tower.
Needless to say, I was interested in checking it out. And I did. And gotdang it, if it isn't an incredibly hard sonuvabitch to play. You can't exactly "walk" the character you're playing conventionally -- you either have to move the cursor in the direction you want Jennifer to walk towards then press "Y", or press the "L" or "R" buttons to make her run left/right -- and when this bastard
appears on screen, you have to run and hide until you lose him; you don't have any weapons to defend yourself with -- all you can do is press "B" repeatedly to block his scissors and push him to the floor if he catches up to you, and that's only a temporary solution; he'll eventually spring back up and resume the chase in no time flat.
After he was diagnosed with diabetes, he no longer felt like LOLing or owning candy.
