I hear America is overrated these days. ;-)

I hear America is overrated these days. ;-)
I want to visit Giza and Teotihuacan so I can see the pyramids of both up close and personal.
Find God again.
Find a beautiful, spiritual, feisty girl-next-door who'll love me and complete me.
Become a director who can make whatever films he wants with no studio interference.
Learn some other languages, especially Welsh, German, Japanese, and ancient Egyptian.
Meet Heather Langenkamp and get an autographed photo taken of us together.
I'd just like to say that though I don't have a problem with pre-marital sex, I do agree with ender that there's too much preoccupation with sex in movies, TV, and music in general these days. If it adds to the story/content, then okay, I'm fine with it. If it's just there to titillate, though, then I don't see any need for it.
Now, with that out of the way, we can let this discussion die for good once and for all. ;-)
I know I'm going to hate myself for this ...
If you don't like pie, chances are you just haven't tasted the right pie yet. ;-P
When it comes down to their draconian control over their respective franchises, I do consider them two sides of the same coin, yes. Lucas comes off as a far more appealing personality than Roddenberry in all other regards, though.
With seven-billion people on the planet, it's hard to believe there isn't someone for everybody. As Post Praetorian so wittily implied, though, geography often gets in the way.
Frankly, I think you have a better chance of getting a girl than I do. You seem to have a personality and a sense of ethics a good woman would find appealing; I can't say the same about myself.

Sorry Ender, not sure what you are refering too.
I notice that video has got over 5 million views in a week, so it's clearly getting people engaged. RTE's other uploaded videos with anything like that amount of views are years old.
He didn't say anything rabid anti-theists haven't already been saying -- and religionists haven't been hearing -- for decades now. It's old hat.
No thank you. I doubt anyone here's either of my types, anyway.

While we're all discussing sex and the exploration/denial thereof, I'd just like to say that I'd probably be more comfortable with my sexuality and my sexual desires would probably be more normal had my parents not instilled in me the notion that sex -- outside of marriage, in positions other than the missionary position, for reasons other than procreation -- was wrong and sinful.
I don't think I ever had a conversation with any parent that was even vaguely about sex.
So I have to ask... did your parents EXPLAIN different sexual positions to you? Was there a diagram of them, with all of them under big red X's except missionary?
Their moralizing was more implicit than explicit -- comments on sex in TV and movies, in their religious discussions with one another, etc. Nevertheless, sex -- or any kind of sexual desire or stimulation -- outside marriage was branded a big no-no.
The more I read about Roddenberry, the less I like about him, both as a creator/showrunner and as a person.
While I can't say I'm a huge Zelda fan, I loved playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask when I was younger. If they can keep the wide-open, nature-filled look and feel of those games intact, then I'd definitely be interested in checking it out.
Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Predator, and Willow have all been added to my collection.
I would have also added A Christmas Carol (1951) to my collection, but the disk looked discoloured, like it had laser rot, so I didn't buy it. *grumble*
It must be fun leafing through her pages, eh?
Six years passed. Guy now

Duracell, is that Jeffrey Combs in your avatar?
Yep. That's him as Milton Dammers from The Frighteners.

In other words: Teaching your kids to repress themselves sexually will turn them into perverts.

On Sunday, 2.5 of the greatest minutes ever were broadcast on Irish Televison...
Stephen Fry on God / The Meaning Of Life / RTÉ One
The slightly horrified looks on the interviewer's (Gay Byrne) face make it all the better.
To borrow the title from Oolon Colluphid's 4th book "Well, That About Wraps It Up For God" ;-)
Four words: blue and orange morality.

Quick question if your TV is so old does it even have an HDMI input?
Again, that's what the adapter's for. =P
Wearing shorts while immersed in fish eggs/sperm for two days ... O_o
Not a fetish I have any interest in, but whatever floats your boat, man, whatever floats your boat.

Notice that "joke" is in quotation marks.
=P
Yes, it is. I just found that out not long after I posted my original post. Which means I'll also have to buy an HDMI cable.
Quoth the Warbler, *sigh*.
I think he's trying to say that he was worried the comics would fail to write the characters in character properly.
To put things succinctly: I don't like Part II.
Let's just say that while I'm preparing myself for the time DVD becomes obsolete, I'm still not interested in ditching my current TV until it breaks down or otherwise becomes completely unwatchable.
