No. I eat meat. The effort of our ancestors should be respected. They didn’t bring us to the top of the food chain so that we will eat grass now. They would surely curse the vegetarian idiots.

Not sure if troll or idiot.

Actually, sure that both.

Yeah – save your sentiments for the rabid “meat is murder” vegan proselytizers who actually are idiots.

How you pictured Anakin pre-PT

I also thought that the saber that Obi-Wan gives Luke is the saber that Anakin used for his entire Jedi career.

There’s literally no reason why this shouldn’t be the case in the PT. Like, as much as we disagree with things such as showing Anakin as a child and such, at least there was a specific narrative choice behind that. Not having Anakin use the same lightsaber throughout is just pointless and only serves to take away from the importance of the saber.

Same goes for Obi-Wan (though obviously to a lesser extent because it doesn’t get passed on). I always felt like it could have been a really cool and subtle but powerful thing if, after Obi-Wan lost his lightsaber in TPM, he uses Qui-Gon’s for the rest of his life. Just a little thing, but it could have been easily done and would have given some sense and weight to his changing saber.

Also, what the hell is Obi-Wan doing chiding Anakin about losing his lightsaber in AOTC anyway? Obi-Wan drops or loses his lightsaber more than anyone.

Yet another sin of the prequels: making lightsabers as replaceable as flashlights.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

Below is a link to a little half hour documentary ESPN aired recently. It’s about the lightsaber duels in Star Wars and the real world martial art - kendo - that was one of the key influences in developing them. The part on the OT is quite good. The part on the PT is absolute bupkis as nothing in the PT even remotely resembles actual kendo. I laughed when George trotted out the tired old “faster and more intense.” And I almost choked when Nick Gillard demonstrated his “kendo” and then how he “evolved” it into the prequel baton twirling (his kendo demonstration was utter garbage and not even close to proper technique - he didn’t even grip the sword correctly, which is something even a novice with only a few lessons should be able to do).

I’ve noticed that while Bob Anderson’s noted as an accomplished fencer and fight chereographer, Gillard’s only ever been described as a stunt man/coordinator. Makes me wonder if the guy actually has any real knowledge of swordplay whatsoever.

Take the twooffour Pledge (Pledge is Suspended - See Post #121) (At one time thread was about DOGS WEARING HATS)

Reading through this thread makes me wish I’d read more of twooffour’s posts before his banning. I don’t think I frequented the threads where he was at his most asinine, so I never really got the sense that he was a troll at the time. Too bad; had he really ticked me off, I would’ve taken the pledge and joined in all the fun while it was still piping hot.
