Well, looks like I solved my YouTube issue. Hardware acceleration was on in Chrome; once I turned it off, I was able to load the website normally.
Now all that’s left is the question of how the hardware acceleration got enabled in the first place/why it didn’t pose any problem before.

Every time I’ve tried to visit YouTube today, the website’s come up all wonky – all blank white with massive icons and shit. Is this happening to everyone or is it just me?
The worst example I can think of for that would definitely be IG-88. I never once considered that as canon despite its standing.
Didn’t he (it?) download his mind into the Death Star II computer or something bizarre like that in the EU? Or was that another Skippy-type of story.
No, that was canon.
Personally, I think it was the first big sign of a decline in quality at DH.
Legacy was a bigger sign, IMO.

PS. Why does so many people have a problem with the Emperor returning. I though t was a nice way to continue that particular subplot from ROTJ which was never really allowed to flourish due to Lucas’ suddenly deciding to make it more child-friendly. Also the OT was more centered around Luke and Vader so Palpatine was ever that particularly important to the overall emotional story, he was mostly just there for the sake of the lore. So post-Vader, it makes sense to make to expand him into a more important character. And a younger one works much better to offset Luke and the new Jedi’s in my opinion.
I also like the idea of Palpatine being more of an ancient evil character (more in a Sauron kind of way) as opposed to just some random Sith from Naboo as he was later retconned into. The idea of him as this evil energy entity that possess (cloned) bodies is a lot more interesting, too me at lest.
I personally have no problem with the reborn Emperor – at least in the first Dark Empire. Come Dark Empire II & Empire’s End, though, I felt his presence was a hinderance and crippled what could have been a truly great story about Luke and his nascent Jedi Order taking on the remnants of Palpatine’s dark side elite.
I’d forgotten I made that first post.
Regardless, I’m firm in my stance now. Madine officially drinks through a hole in the top of his head.

The EU originally retconned TPM Greedo as being ANH Greedo’s father because that deleted scene contradicted the backstory they’d already established for the character, but then TCW established that TPM Greedo & ANH Greedo were one and the same after all, so then the EU writers had to retcon the retcon.

Independence Day: Resurgence.
There’s a good chance it’ll suck – I can easily see CG overload making it as sufferable as a jackhammer to the jaw, and Emmerich’s as mediocre a director as ever – but the writers are apparently going to be the same writers who’ll be working on the Stargate reboot trilogy, and I want to have some idea of what they’re going to be bringing to the table.

I’m not familiar with any of those EU characters.
I honestly didn’t mind the Droid Revolution or the "IG-88 is the Death Star II" thing when I read the story, incredibly hokey though the last bit is. The story’s certainly better than most of KJA’s other SW works.
But yeah, I much prefer IG-88 as a droid left over from the Clone Wars and the Death Star II as the Death Star II.
I wouldn’t take IMDb ratings all that seriously, either. They rate The Fly II 4.9/10 for crying out loud.
That doesn’t make the situation any more tolerable.
Noting accomplishes nothing if it isn’t subsequently filed.
