On the contrary, it makes me want to run out into the woods buck naked, tackle down and kill with my bare hands the first deer I come across, and then eat its uncooked flesh right there before the carcass has time to cool, all just to spite this plastic Hollywood slut.

Spite her? I don’t think she would care in the slightest.

She would if I dumped the uneaten portions on her front door.

Flaws, plotholes, and "could-have-been-done-betters" in the OT (alternate plot points especially welcome)

Now, for a needless BUMP …

Blasters and ships in SW should have fired energy beams, not bolts. The bolts have always looked unimpressive to me.

I’m not a fan of the big space battle in ROTJ. With this movie, Rebellion capital ships are finally introduced to the series, and do we ever get to see them clearly duke it out with the star destroyers one-on-one? No. Emphasis is once again placed on the goddamn fighter dogfights while the Mon Calamari ships and star destroyers just meander about in the background most of the time. Hell, the Executor – a massive, kilometres-long behemoth – is taken out by a few tiny A-Wing gnats blowing out its shields and crashing into its bridge. What a ripoff!

tl;dr: Energy weapons and space battles were always more impressive in Star Trek than in Star Wars (the lame designs of the TNG+ hand phasers not withstanding).
