To wrap this episode up, here are some designs of costumes, weapons, etc. used by the Starfleet of this universe:

This is my take on the Starfleet uniforms of the Pike era. Inspired by the utilitarian aesthetic of “The Cage”, I decided to give these uniforms a more muted colour scheme than the Kirk-era uniforms, keeping the vibrant division colours restricted to the undershirts, which are largely hidden beneath jackets of gray and white.

These uniforms make an appearance in the teaser of this episode, but are already phased out by the time Kirk takes command of the Enterprise.

This is my take on the Starfleet uniforms of the Kirk era. Though I’m not a fan of the TOS uniforms, I like the basic colour scheme of those uniforms, so I didn’t go out of my way to make any radical changes to the design; I just made a few alterations to achieve a more professional look.

I came across this image while Googling designs for an alternate TOS-era phaser rifle. I consider it an excellent design – certainly the best of its type I’ve come across – so I’ve officially adopted it as the Kirk-era phaser rifle of my re-write.
