E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

This movie is a pinata – a pinata made of schmaltz, stuffed to bursting with saccharine-coated corn, surrounded by a horde of cute but annoying little children who all yell too much.

That being said, the pinata is a nice looking pinata, and the mom at the party has an ass which looks great in a leopard print dress.

7/10

2 very bad SW movies in a row

Wut.

Dude, we just got over the damn prequels. That was a low point for Star Wars. Anything new is good. You might not have liked TFA or RO, but I for one think they were pretty damn good and a great way for Disney to start to correct the sins of the prequels.

Anyone dismissing TFA doesn’t understand the tightrope Disney had to walk to try to please both old and new fans. I think they did a great job.

To seal the deal, they need to release an original unaltered theatrical set of the trilogy. It might not sell like hotcakes, but damn if it won’t cement a hardcore fan base.

You’re arguing with someone who rates Rogue One 0/10.

And no, he hasn’t given any of the prequels negative numbered scores.

Wouldn’t Enterprise technically be an alternate reality than the normal Trek series? I mean, it’s pretty much confirmed that it takes place after the skewed events of First Contact. Either they pulled a Back to the Future and history was ‘re-written’, or the events of First Contact/Enterprise actually happened in yet another separate alt. timeline.

The first rule of ST time travel mechanics: Don’t talk about ST time travel mechanics. 😛

Seriously, though, the consequences of time travel have never been portrayed consistently across the different movies and series or even different episodes within series. Sometimes the Novikov self-consistency principle is in effect, other times it isn’t; sometimes alterations made to the timeline will re-write the original timeline, other times it’ll create a whole new timeline separate from the original; sometimes time travellers into the past will replace their past selves once they arrive, most times they won’t. The discrepancies are myriad.

This is definitely true. As you get more and more recent in terms of generation, this increases. Lotta parents raising their kids on phones and tablets.

that is is also a problem.

A couple years back, I was on the bus and I saw a woman with her baby. She gave the baby a tablet to watch TV shows on. I doubt the kid was even old enough to speak.

Needless to say, I mentally facepalmed.
