Why focus on one or the other when you can focus on both at the same time?

Dear God those are awful
Just like modern trailers tend to be.
Would it be freakier to know that was only a small fraction of the cats I owned at the time that picture was taken?
What, no love for Michael Rooker’s rape face?
I piled them up in a corner of my room, just in case I might have need of them again in the future.
I transferred all my BDs and DVDs from their original cases to DVD wallets. Now they don’t take up even a single row on my shelf, leaving me space for literally hundreds of more discs I wouldn’t have room for otherwise.
I only hope the wallets don’t end up scuffing the discs every time I take them out/return them.
I don’t recall ever being terribly bothered by LuckyGungan2001 posts.
Likewise.
And Imp’scum continues to furiously do his taxes to his own reflection.
SKELETON CREW – STEPHEN KING
The first and last time I read this collection was back in 2002/2003, and I figured it was time enough at last to revisit it. Sad to say, I only really liked seven out of the twenty-two stories: “The Mist”, “The Monkey”, “The Jaunt”, “Word Processor of the Gods”, “Beachworld”, “Gramma”, and “The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet”. The remaining stories were either meh, started off strong but ended on a weak note, or – in the case of “Mrs. Todd’s Shortcut” – nigh-unreadable.
Usually such a low good-to-otherwise ratio leads to weeding, but “Word Processor of the Gods” happens to remain one of my favourite King short stories, so I’ll be hanging onto my copy of the book.
6/10
I’m still waiting for a Lovecraftian horror story set in the galaxy far, far away.
Well, I had her younger self in mind when I typed that, but I didn’t want to appear ageist, so I omitted that detail.
*sigh*
I was too young in the '90s to take notice of her, and my standards of beauty during my teenaged years and early-to-mid 20s were on the weak side, so yeah.
About a week ago I watched the Kevin Costner film Mr. Brooks. I’ve seen the movie a couple times now, think it’s pretty good, but don’t care for the character of Tracy Atwell. I’m also none too keen on the overall look of the film.
Essentially, what I envision in my mind is a fan-edit of Mr. Brooks that completely excises Atwell from the movie; the narrative would be told completely from Brooks’ POV – keeping a tight focus on his conflicts with Marshall and Smith and the problems with his daughter – without Atwell’s diversionary side story detracting from the main plot.
Furthermore, I’d re-render most of the film in black and white, to amp up the film noir quality. Only a select few items associated with violence and death – the murdered redhead’s hair, Marshall’s clothing, Jane’s lips, and the blood – would be in colour (all red).
My working title for this fan-edit would be Thumbprint. (Not very imaginative, I know.)
Man this show is a complete train wreck!
When I first saw this Klingon ship concept I thought immediately of “Stargate: Atlantis”. And that is not a good thing. The video I link to below is a fair rundown of the situation thus far.
“Star Trek Discovery in Trouble? Rumor Rundown” = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km5qVwZvjm8What in christ’s sake is that thing
It looks like a trident covered in gothic cathedrals and mosques.
I see the Cloverfield monster with a topknot.
Aren’t Rorschach inkblots fun?

Katharine Hepburn
Damn, that’s a good photo of her.
“So bad it’s good” doesn’t work for books like it does for movies. At least not for me. Maybe a short story, but a full, bad novel? No.
Just to play devil’s advocate, Glove of Darth Vader and its sequels are more like novellas than true novels.
I wasn’t planning on rewatching TFA any time soon, but last week I got the sudden urge to give it a go. Just to give myself a somewhat different experience from the first time, I turned the colour of my TV all the way down and skipped completely over the Starkiller stuff.
I didn’t expect myself to enjoy the film more than I did the first time around, but I did. I found myself more invested in the characters this time around, and the B&W look really worked wonders for many parts of the film; it lent some of the outdoor scenes a nice Bergman flavour, Snoke looked slightly better in monochrome (emphasis on slightly), it gave everything associated with the First Order a more mechanical aesthetic (which I liked), and it even made Kylo Ren and his lightsaber look more impressive – like the Grim Reaper wielding a medieval longsword.
Overall, I still think this movie rates a 6/10, but only because the Starkiller stuff is an albatross around the film’s neck. The parts of the film aside from that – everything with Rey, Finn, Han, etc. – are worthy of a 7/10.
Read all nine volumes of the Bone series by Jeff Smith over the past couple days.
There is something to be said for reading these comics as they were first published – in individual issues, released months apart, over a period of years. When you read these comics in trade paperbacks, breezing through them, something of the magic is lost.
Regardless, I enjoyed revisiting this series, finally reading the entire thing (and in order, too).
CATHERINE O’HARA
It took me too long to recognize just how drop dead gorgeous this woman is. I’ve known her face since the late '90s, but the fact of her attractiveness only sunk in within the last couple years.
Is that a ROTS “NOOOOOO!” or a ROTJ '11 “NOOOOOO!”?
All the movies I watched during my absence:
