This was one of the dumbest things in R1. If you go back and look at the original trilogy, there was no pseudo-scientific explanation for how anything worked. Lightsabers simply existed, a very small number of people had them and used them, and that’s all you needed to know.
As this was a spin-off anthology film, I might have found something like this interesting, if the filmmakers had really made a true science-fiction film, including extensive research and thorough presentation. But it’s really just a bunch of wannabes who don’t know anything, making something up out of their *** and thinking “yeah, that’ll work”.
It wasn’t Star Wars. It wasn’t science fiction. I don’t know what it was.

In time, after I grew to hate ROTS and the rest of the PT, I took it down. I don’t remember what became of it; perhaps I stashed it in some dark, forgotten corner of the garage somewhere, or perhaps I just threw it out.

I tried watching the Battlestar Galactica reboot, but I couldn’t make it past the first part of the initial mini-series. I then tried watching the original Battlestar Galactica, and I made it through the pilot, but I wasn’t left with a desire to continue watching from there.
Battlestar Galactica has a good premise, but neither execution of it left me with anything but a lukewarm impression.

I fear the Lando miniseries may end up being the only quality product Marvel will produce since getting the license back from Dark Horse. I haven’t read a single other story from them them that hasn’t been mediocre or worse.
If generallyfrivolous was a franchise, I’d say he’s jumped the shark – numerous times – and continues jumping sharks every chance he gets.

The Magician (1958)
Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or later. I’ve finally seen a Bergman film I don’t like.
(spoilers ahead, I guess)
For most of the runtime, it was a typical Bergman film (and I mean that in a good way). But then Von Sydow’s character “died”, and the movie died along with him.
Still, up until that point, the film was solid, with great performances all around. Thus I’ll give it a generous score.
