I wonder how long it’ll be before Ridley Scott makes a prequel/sequel/sidequel to Legend that retcons Darkness, the fairies, the goblins, etc. into being extraterrestrials with sufficiently advanced technology, probably with ties to the Prometheus/Alien Universe. Lord knows preserving the film’s mysticism and grandeur come a distant second to Ridley’s need to profit off nostalgia since he’s too much of a worn-out old fart to create any new stories worth a damn.

Exactly. They would’ve voted for him regardless. In fact, I’m sure many supporters like him even more now. There were audible chuckles and an immediate “You’re forgiven!” from the crowd during his apology/victory speech.

Willful ignorance in the face of overwhelming evidence and common sense are the rule of the day now! Why not save a mint on education and just go off your gut feelings instead?

Let’s not go overboard. You can spend a mint on education at Trump University and still end up without an education. Everyone wins!

Such an animated series should’ve been made in the '90s, preferably with Bruce Timm as showrunner, before the PT tainted the mythos and CG and Flash came to dominate everything.

The Republic has a different origin story. The galaxy was ruled by the bloodthirsty Sith aristocracy, until a gang of slaves learned the Sith’s secrets of the Force and used them for good instead of evil. Hmmm. I’ve rated three of Season 8’s episodes 6/10; none of the prior seasons had that many imperfect episodes*. Yet I’ve also rated five episodes 10/10; none of the prior seasons had that many perfect episodes. Thus I’m left with a conundrum: Is Season 8 the first season of The Simpsons to show signs of ennui or isn’t it?

*I think. I have to re-watch the first three seasons to know for sure.

It is far preferable to simply dismiss the contradictory elements rather than trying pretend they fit together as part of some grand plan. The mental gymnastics required to twist them around into such illogical shapes ends up being too tiring and frustrating to keep track of, so at this point I don’t bother even paying attention to a word of any so-called ‘official’ continuity explanations.
