Weird Idea but maybe it will work - Anakin and Darth were two separate people
Time

I went this direction in my previous rewrite. The goal was for Darth to become Anakin’s Sith apprentice in the final episode, have them confront Ben together on Mustafar, then end with Darth turning against Anakin and the both of them falling into a magma pit. Anakin would’ve survived with near-total amnesia, with Palpatine altering his remaining memories to make him believe he was Darth all along.

Happy Star Wars Day

Happy Proper/Alternate/Second/Vintage Star Wars day!

I will be celebrating with the movie, some popcorn and a big pot of tea.

This was the first post the thread took me to. For a brief moment I thought Mark’s Down had returned.

It’s long concerned me how she just vanished into the ether like that. I miss her.

The Unpopular Film, TV, Music, Art, Books, Comics, Games, & Technology Opinion Thread (for all you contrarians!)

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is better than all the F13 sequels which followed. It’s a moronic movie, certainly, but at least its stupidity is simpatico with the stupidity of the previous entries. Zombie Jason lowered the series to a new level of mindlessness, and it kept descending from there.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread
Time

If Lucas hadn’t decided to put SW on hiatus after ROTJ, if he’d decided to immediately go forward with a PT & ST (in whichever order), without deviating from the “new-SW-film-every-three-years” formula, we’d have gotten nine SW films within a 24-year stretch.

TRILOGY I

 • 1977
 • 1980
 • 1983

TRILOGY II

 • 1986
 • 1989
 • 1992

TRILOGY III

 • 1995
 • 1998
 • 2001

Have to say, I’m disappointed this didn’t pan out. It would’ve been nice to have gotten three SW films in the '90s instead of just one.

I'll never understand the attitude of people who oppose the release of the unaltered original trilogy.

Star Wars conversation with a friend a few months ago…

Me: “If you want to watch the original trilogy the way we saw it as kids I have the “Despecialized” versions without the cgi in HD…”

Friend: “Naw, man. When I want to watch the originals I’ve got my old VHS tapes, and they still work fine.”

(He points over at a shelf, I notice they’re the fullscreen Special Edition tapes, I scream internally.)

That’s some god-tier existential terror right there.
