Who is Ignoring You, and Who are You Ignoring? (was: Who is Ignoring You? (was: Hello all, I'm back!))
Time

So, I decided to revisit the last fifty pages of this thread. Came across this beauty:

Warbler is ignoring me.

I am not ignoring anyone. No one in my entire internet career has managed to be good enough to get on my ignore list.

This was almost four months after he first started post here. Proof positive he was high off his own farts virtually from Day 1.

Why do you listen to so much of the bad music I had to put up with back in the 90’s?
Ok, “bad” is only an opinion, but I’m curious, What leads you to it?

Man, I don’t know. I’ve listened to so much late 90s music at this point that it just appears in my recommended feeds on YouTube and Spotify. I didn’t think “Freak on a Leash” was that bad though.

Okay, but if you like this song, you’re certainly going to hell.

Things that you would like to see in Star Wars that have not happened

Anyway, I’d like to see archaeology in a Star Wars movie.

This reminds me of a story idea I posted in another thread some years ago.

I’ve got an idea for a film that’s basically a Lovecraftian horror story set in the Star Wars Universe.

Two Jedi archaeologists – a master and his newly appointed apprentice – are sent to serve as consultants on a remote backwater planet where the ruins of a long extinct civilization have been unearthed. Apparently, this civilization wiped itself millions of years ago after succumbing to some bizarre pandemic which caused them all to develop conflicting memories about themselves, their peers, and the history of their world, driving them to homicidal madness in the process.

As the archaeological team digs deeper and deeper into the ruins, they, too, begin to suffer from the madness which wiped out this lost civilization, recalling conflicting memories about themselves, their peers, and the universe around them.

Eventually, it is discovered that this plague of madness is caused by some bizarre orb buried at the heart of the ruins – an orb which serves as a window into the multiverse. Anyone who gets too close to the orb and its emanations gains the memories of their counterparts in other timelines, driving them insane in the process.

In the end, the Jedi master sacrifices himself by merging with the orb, defeating it in the process. His apprentice, who suffered prolonged exposure to the radiations of the orb, is left insane, unable to distinguish one reality from another, existing in multiple worlds at once.

I still want to see this movie made.

I think you have the beginnings of a good story here. If you’re having trouble fleshing the story out, I suggest you write it as a short film first — just focus on the pertinent plot points. Then, if you feel there’s a bigger narrative still to be tapped into, gradually expand on it by filling in the gaps/adding finer details to what’s there already.

The title of this thread is pretty self explanatory. Personally I would love to see a Force wielder who practices the dark side but isn’t necessarily evil, whether it’s an individual or a group, I think it would be interesting to see that not all darksiders are interested in conquest and destruction.

This would go against what we know about one interpretation of the nature of the Force.

FTFY

Frankly, I wish Lucas had never depicted the Force is such a stringent “black-and-white-no-in-between” manner. It reeks of foul Objectivism.

Yes, there was an actual ignore feature. It was discontinued when the site was overhauled in '15.

I didn’t use it much myself, and only on minor annoyances who never ended up staying around very long. I should’ve used it on Darth Id when I had the opportunity (I don’t get myself sometimes).

Valley of the Gwangi – Harryhausen’s effects stand up, and I was able to enjoy the story even though it was pretty standard fare.

The one and only time I watched that movie, I kinda hated it. Loved the effects, but both the humans and the titular Gwangi were such hateful creatures I couldn’t enjoy it.

Heavy Metal – Lots of naked animated ladies.

Sometimes I think Heavy Metal would’ve been better if it had been nothing but naked animated ladies and dropped all pretense of having a plot.

The only person I’d currently ignore is Matt.F. He reminds me of the PT/SE “true believer” apologists I came across back in the day. He reeks of disdain for each and every person who’s expressed even the slightest amount of disappointment in TLJ. I can’t stand guys like that.

Of course, I could easily just completely avoid visiting “The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread”. He doesn’t appear to post much outside of it, and it’s a wretched hive of scum and villainy anyway.
