Info: Superman II Donner, and III & IV extended edits
Time
I just watched my dvd of the Donner Cut....and I'm blown away. As much as I loved the RIC version, this is pretty much the closest to the definitive version of Superman II to me.....

EXCEPT for the ending. I loath the amnesia kiss ending of the Lester cut, but the fact that he returns to the diner is very bothersome. I really like the "return to the diner" sequence, but with the "let's spin the world around again" part, it's out of place and makes no sense...

But I personally do not accept that shitty amneisa kiss.... I haven't since i read an issue of Comic Scene that explained in detail the Donner cut of Superman II back in the late 80s. As much as "return to the diner" doesn't work, I'll keep it like it is, just for a version that doesn't have that shitty amnesia kiss crap.

As for the fact that Supes isn't in it until Niagra Falls....Batman isn't in Batman Begins for a while too (forget the time in the movie, but it's pretty long into it).

I will see who does what of the fanedits and see what is on the up and up and will probably grab a couple that I like.

Info Wanted: Akira Criterion - has anyone done a preservation of this?
Time
I know that there were several HK dvds with the original dub on it, but nothing to the quality of the Criterion LD. The newer R1 dvd is gorgeous, so maybe using it and the original Streamline Dub would work (haven't read all 2 pages of this). I was really hoping that they had the old dub and the new dub on the R1 dvd when I bought it release night. I mean, Giant Robo had 4 audio tracks on it, as did Gall Force Eternal Memory. but that's Geneon for you....

I'm hoping in the next month or so to getting into my Lensman project, and possibly doing a Robot Carnival preservation (if my buddy can track down the LD or the oop DVD that is dubtitled since he's in Shizuohki). If we find the Dubtitled dvd, I might get with Marioxb about doing subs for a r0 dvd, since it hasn't been released in the US in any format since the early 90s.

Book Of The Dead Preservation (* unfinished project *)
Time
I soooo want this. Are you going to use the original Elite dvd, since it's fullscreen, or do you have another video source? Since reading "If Chins Could Kill", I've always wondered about the first version of Evil Dead. I have a really horrid copy of Within the Woods somewhere that I'd offer up for you, but hopefully someone has a better version then the mpeg I have.

Idea: Preserving STAR TREK - a preservation project?
Time
I recently got a copy of the STV MST3K fanedition (dunno how else to label it since it's a fanmade MST3K) from MarioXB, and he's in the process of taking the Mike Nelson audio commentary for ti and applying it to the dvd he sent me (ala his Backstroke of the West dvd-convertor thingie). Anyone who wants copies of the original and the re-do from mario, lemme know.

Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas (Complete) - (Released)
Time
This was always the reason I loved having HBO as a kid in the early 80s. The first time I watched my dvd of the special, I was like "Wasn't Kermit in this?" It'd be great to have a complete version finally. Sign me up for a PIF or something when you get it done (I've done a PIF for MarioXB's Street Fighter dvd and will do one for my own Lensman dvd when it's finished, and am definitely going to do it for Fixer's Dr Who stuff). Can't wait to see your "fixed" version. ^_^

Help: looking for... 'Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie'
Time
I actually picked up the barebones R1 dvd for like $10 a few years ago at Suncoast (best purchase ever at that store), and I still have it and watch it at least once a month. The only problem is that it IS available on dvd, though extremely OOP. Otherwise, I'd offer to make copies, but that would result in me getting a warning or being banned on here, so I can't do that.

And when I say barebones, that's what i mean.
