Yeah what makes it worse is half the time the only reason I see these stupid things is because some website has glitched and is refusing to remember my password when I enter it.

Those things should be banned.

MKV
Time

I use this program to convert my MKV files.  It's 100% free, supports a tone of formats, and even has a simple video editor.  it's not the most complex program out there and you have to play around to find all the right settings but it does the job, takes every file I throw at it and did I mention that it is completely free?!

It really is a god sent to people like me who have no cash but want to work with HD video.

My friends have a great interview up with the writers of Star Tr3k. Check it out!

I think I pulled a muscle from cringing when Mike said Trek 09 was the best Star Trek movie of all time.

So had this guy seen ever seen any Star trek before?  Star Trek 09 was a good big dumb summer action movie but Star Trek is about being more then big dumb summer action and given the choice between the last two movies and another season of Enterprise run by Manny Coto I'd choose another season of Enterprise and I hated Enterprise when it came on but it really turned around and in that last year felt more like Star trek then the last two movies.  Heck I like season four Archer of all people more then the spoiled brat they are trying pass off as  Kirk these days.

Even as a Star Trek action movie both of those films just lift directly from Wrath of Khan which was a much better film, has this guy even seen Wrath of Khan?

I am going into a full blown fan boy freak out here.

Time

Wow,they charge that much?

I hope you are right.  I only have $10 to my name right now but I gave my $5.  I really hope they get the money they need.  It was this show,my mom reading to me,and wishbone that cemented my love of books as a kid and made me take up writing as a hobby so this show is very special to me.

Oh and one funny story.  I used to look away whenever Burton looked at the camera when I was a kid, why?  Because as much as I loved the show I found his eyes creepy.  You see I saw him on TNG before RR and I wasn't used to seeing his eyes. Seeing his eyes just felt wrong somehow and I felt like I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to see and I was always put a little on edge when he looked at the camera.

Okay I know nothing about the world cup or soccer but I think the fans need to lighten up.  I mean look at this.

I mean do we really need to go this far?

lighten up, its called having fun.   If you want to see things taken too far with soccer,  you need see the hooligans they have in Europe.  That stuff goes way too far.

So they have a team in the world cup,do we really have to boycott everything with the name of their country in it.

It is not just that they have a team in the world cup, they happen to be playing us today.

Between stuff like this and the riots I have to see I do not get a good impression of Soccer and it's fans.

I agree, riots do take things too far, but I don't I've heard of any US soccer fans rioting.

I am a huge Packers fan but you don't see me boycotting any cheese not made in Green Bay.

what about cheese made in Chicago or Detroit or Minnisota?  ; )

Good night the hype for these games has reached an insane level.

somehow, I guess I've missed this insanity that you refer to.

Well i don't care where cheese comes from,it's a football game why would I hate a place just because it produces a team that happens to be playing mine?  I mean the sport would be pretty boring if the Packers were the only ones playing it.

Okay I take your point I just think boycotting every product of a country(Even ones that just have the name of that country)because they dare to have a team that plays against our team isn't very sportsman like.  That is all. it just seems rude to me.

I thought putting tinfoil on windows was supposed to cut the heat down, but it doesn't seem to do jack shit -- I'm still miserably hot, just in darkness instead of sunlight.

I had never heard of this solution before.

I don't know.... tinfoil + heat... isn't that how you cook potatoes??

I thought it was tinfoil that kept the aliens out of my brainwaves.

Wait...Are you telling me that doesn't work?!!!!!

The YYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAHHHH!!! I HAVE GOT GOOD NEWS THREAD!
Time

Since we have a thread where we complain I decided to start a thread where we can talk about our good news.  After all maybe things will not seem so bad if we talk about the good things that have happened in our lives.\

Well yesterday after almost two years off of my meds we finally found a psychiatrist who takes my insurance and I have an appointment with him at the end of next month.  Goodby head aches, farewell right hand locking up and not doing what it is told right away, see you latter words becoming a jumble in my head and making it impossible to write...I AM GETTING BACK ON MY MEDS!

I had pretty much given up hope but now for the first time in a long time I feel like there is hope for getting my life back on track.

Last movie seen
Time

Well as someone who knows a game programer and has seen him work can I just say it's hard to make programing exciting, interesting,or even not slow paced on film.  We tend to take games for granted and a lot of interesting stuff happens while making them but most of the work is just sitting at a computer and typing. I am amazed they were about to make any kind of movie out of that, let alone one that is only a little slow.

God, how I hate living in the Okanagan Valley. First chance I get, I'm moving somewhere where the heat rarely climbs above 25°C.

I hate hot weather.  When it is cold all i have to do is put on a coat but in the summer I just have to sweat and I hate sweating.

I feel sorry for you man.

24 Live another day

Okay is there anything that isn't going to go wrong for Chloe?  If this is the final season something really good had better happen to her in the end because she has just lost what little she had.

Oh and what's his name is going down.

This really was Agent Morgan's episode and if Jack doesn't make it out of this season alive(and I don't think he will)I could now see the series continuing with her as the lead.

Oh and there is no way out of this there is going to be a lot of bloodshed after that ending.

Yeah but you can't make deposits other then cash with the thing.  Any way here is hoping that if they found one check today they will find the others soon.  I think we will be switching banks so it shouldn't be an issue much longer.  I don't know what others will do but i am going to a credit union.  I have had three banks in the past 16 years and have never been happy with the service I get from any of them so i will give a credit union a shot.

My dad has to be on a special diet for his heart and because his kidneys are failing but right now we can't buy the food he needs because the bank is refusing to show the paycheck my mom deposited in her account last Thursday as being their and this is not the first time this has happened. So now we have no food in the house and no money to buy food because the law does not apply to big banks. if a bank decides to steal two weeks pay from you there is nothing you can do about it.

I am sick to death of this corrupt country that is run by the rich. Three days in a row of no food because someone at the bank stole our paychecks and it is not a crime for a bank to steal your money in this country. We need a revolution.

don't you have a receipt from the deposit of the check?  Surely that would prove you deposited the check.

Well here is the problem the bank is only open when everyone has to work(You know to pay for things like medical bills and food)so we had to use the nigh deposit box,we will never make that mistake again. I am never using this bank again.

Yeah I know it's the modern style but button up shirts never look right to me without a tie.

He needs this style of tie, only a bit thinner and a tad shorter.

Edit: And make the tie the same red as his coat liner.

Yeah that would work.  I really like that idea.

Doctor Who
Time

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Pertwee's costume was inspired by type of clothes Bowie wore.  If that is true it could be a case of two people getting inspiration from the same thing.  It is interesting that the 11Th Doctors costume seemed to be inspired by the second Doctor's and the 12th Doctor's seems to have been inspired by the 3rd's.

Still it is giving me a cool retro vibe and I can't wait to see the 12th Doctor in action.
