I loved that Spiderman game.  It's the only Spiderman game I have ever finished.

I had a crush on Selphie from Final Fantasy 8 the first time I played the game. I was 14 at the time.

Yeah but it just seems strange because it would seem to me if the biggest complaint about the last movie was too many characters then doing a movie that has even more characters in it is the wrong move to save the franchise if you care about it.

Well I like FF8 more then FF7.

I have been here a lot longer then you have and I know the forum puts a little note up every time a post is edited.

This has to be a joke. Either that or the world went completely insane while I wasn't looking but then again that seems to be happening a lot to me lately.

No I didn't,but it does explain a lot.  Still the fact that they are pushing back the other movie I think says they are looking for some way to breath new life into this franchise.

I thought about putting this in the gaming thread but it felt like it didn't fit there.

So any way is there anything you have ever done as a gamer that you are ashamed to admit? Any thing that you feel makes you stick out as not being a "real" gamer? If so talk about it hear.

For my part here is my list.

1)I have beaten most of my NES games but only with game genie.

2)I play most games on easy the first time because I want to see what happens next in the story.

3)despite beating the other games in the series I have yet to get around tp beating Halo 3.

4)Wii Sports may be my most played game in the past eight years.

5)I have spent way more time playing Fable 3 then Skyrim despite the fact that Skyrim is a much better game and has a lot more to do and gives you a lot more freedom.  I just like the art work and the look and feel of the world of Fable 3 better then Skyrim and so I am on my third play through while I am only about 7 hours into Skyrim.

It felt good to get that off my chest. Anything you would like to confess that makes you feel a deep sense of shame as a gamer?

Well this is interesting.  Looks like Sony is trying to breath new life into the franchise any way they can.

As a Calvin and Hobbes fan, I wouldn't want to read an adult version of Calvin and Hobbes where Calvin forgets about Hobbes, even as a one-off. I'd rather just pick it up where it was when I left it off.

Things for kids don't always need a loss-of-innocence moment or to "grow up", because people who enjoyed them who come back to them usually want to feel the nostalgia of how it was to read the stories when they were younger, as a guilty pleasure. Being an adult doesn't always mean wanting to deal with adult situations; especially when you want to escape with an old comic book "friend".

I'm just so tired of everything having to be heavy and gritty and whatnot. Ugh.

You just put into words so well why I gave up on mainstream comics after reading them all my life due to a combination of Civil War,One more day,and All Star Batman and Robin.  Thank you.  I read about men with superpowers fighting crime teenagers who never seem to leave the 1940s to escape the real world for a few minutes not be reminded of it. 

Archie seems to take place in the same kind of never never land that the Jeeves and Wooster stories took place it and it's hard to imagine a Jeeves and Wooster story that would feature the final solution or something like that in it because it would be so at odds with the tone and purpose of the book.

Sometimes growing up means taking an honest look at your work and saying "Maybe I am not making the deepest or most important thing in history but that is okay,maybe this silly escape is also something people need. and I don't need to try to be adult with these stories in order to prove that I am an adult".

Yeah I collected them as a kid and the nearest they came to doing this sort of thing were a few stories where the lesson was study hard and do well in school kids.  They never went dark like this.

This is just a sad cry for attention like most gritty reboots in comics these days.

Now Archie has gone dark and gritty and little piece of my soul just died.
