Well, I've been thoroughly enjoying season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., far more than I enjoyed the first few episodes of season 1 (and I liked season 1 from the beginning).

I really like what they're doing with Simmons (and how she's gotten progressively better at lying and secret-keeping since the show began), and holy crap did Iain De Caestecker knock it out of the park this week in his scene with Ward.

And did anyone else get the feeling that the first two episodes of season 2 were meant to air as a 2-hour premiere, then ABC changed their minds and split them up? Because it really felt that way to me.

Yeah me too.  it didn't really feel like a natural cliffhanger to me,instead it felt like the way the Five Doctors was split into four episodes by adding cliffhangers where they could the second episode had the exact same guest cast.

Yes Fitz's scene with Ward was amazing.

As i said the show isn't doing anything wrong I am just finding myself more looking forward to The Flash and Supernatural this year, and that surprises me. I am still watching it I just don't personally enjoy this season as much as last season.

I think I am just burnt out on dark plot arcs right now.  I just want something light and fun at the moment.  Maybe I just need to get into the mood,I don't know. I have stopped getting excited for or watching several shows this year for the same reason,I don't know what is wrong with me right now I just can't get into the mood for dark and complex plot arcs at the moment.

Yeah because molesting children is one of those things where there are no victims and people should just get over it and not be bothered by it.

After all it's not like anyone's life has ever been ruined by being molested as a child.

You are right people just need to get over it and the police should stop wasting time investigating these so called "crimes".

If a man wants to force a child to have sex with him no one has the right to stand in his way,and he shouldn't be judged for acting on the impulse.

On a similar not I really wish woman would stop complaining about being "raped". We all know they wanted it and enjoyed it when it happened so they just need to be told to shut up and stop running to the police after the fact.

I am just going to take a guess.  if I am this character am I Mr.Reese or Mr.Finch from Person of Interest?

The first three are just general, the last one is all about The Dude, dude.

Oh.  I have never seen that movie so I was thinking Person of Interest because the machine contacts them with payphones and a lot of the time they try to avoid cellphones so they don't get caught.

I guess I was looking too closely for an exact match instead of thinking in general terms.

Whoops.

I concur about not wanting to watch TMP again anytime soon.

What troubles me about all this is, this tape apparently was secretly recorded two years ago. Who had it all this time, and why were they just sitting on it?

Once someone knew, not reporting it in a timely fashion doesn't make sense. Isn't that technically aiding and abetting? Does a doctor/patient confidentiality preclude this as well?

And TMZ doesn't get this sort of thing for free either.

Oh I agree that whoever was holding the tape should be charged too.  Making money off of this sort of thing is just sick and I hope whoever the scumbag is gets the book thrown at them.

You will take several years just to start dating a girl you like even if everyone can see the two of you really like each other from the first time you meet. Then you will take two or three year of dating before proposing. After that you will be engaged for at least three years and the whole time you will be having sex but she will never get pregnant. Oh and when you finally do set a date your wedding will be interrupted by an action scene or a kidnapping. Then when you finally do get married you will be in your mid 40s before you have your first and only kid and neither one of you will have to take any time off from your jobs to watch the kid and take care of them, ever. Oh and if you have one fight ever the relationship will be over, there is no repairing the damage after one thing has gone less then perfectly and voices have been raised.

Really I would like to see one film series or Tv show with a romantic relationship that is somewhat close to real life before I die.

My family has a 5 chickens,6 cats,a rabbit, and a Dog named Watson.  Our latest pet is a kitten that wondered into our yard a few weeks ago.  She likes me and sits on my shoulder while I play Halo Wars. I named her eggroll because I think there is just about enough meat on her to make one.

Here is a picture.

I have to admit I am starting to lose interest in AOS and I was a fan from day one.

It's just these 24 style plots where everyone has a secret, everyone is at each other's throats, and no one know who to trust are wearing thin for me.

I know I am in the minority in feeling this way and i don't hold it against the show for doing what most people want to see and I am not even saying it is badly done I am just saying what works for me personally.

It just feels like every show on Tv these days in doing this type of story telling so to me Agents of Shield is just losing it's appeal.

I know I am the only one who feels this way and I don't expect them to change the show but for me I was more interested in watching when it felt like a lost show from the 80s in the first half of the first season. In this day and age it felt different and fun to have a team dealing with a new super powered crime each week and to have a team of characters who were learning to work together and like each other and didn't all have dark secrets.

As i said I know I am alone but I just liked the show better when it was light and fun and full of adventure.

It also doesn't help that The Flash had one of the best 45 minute pilots I have seen in a long time last night.

As i said the show isn't bad it's just that personally I am no longer waiting excitedly for each episode like I was from day one last season.

I think it's likely that The Flash will become the show I can't stand to miss each week if the rest of the episodes this season are as good as the pilot.

Here is the thing as someone who has seen the effects of this sort of crime I can tell you that there are two problems with assuming that all charges like this are made up.

First it can be hard to find evidence that will stand up in court, the people who get away with this tend to be good at covering their tracks and doing these things in private so the matter is a reduced to a he said/she said sort of thing.

Two it isn't until recent years that police really started treated these cases as major crimes so in many cases they were not investgated to the extend say a murder would be.

Three unlike a lot of other crimes child molestation leaves a scare on the soul and leaves many children feeling like it was their fault,so they are afraid to come forward. These feelings may not be logical but they are there none the less and must be understood.

I have heard a lot of people who assume that just because it takes years or some times decades for the child to get to the point where they can talk about it to the police or anyone else that the charge must be made up,but that is not how this sort of crime works.  In something like an armed robbery it is clear who the victim and who the crook is so people have no problem talking about that. Sadly most children are abused by someone they looked up to so they feel that it is their fault and that they someone tempted the molester into the actions he or she committed.  Now I am not saying all charges like this are untrue I am just saying that in recent years there seems to be the assumption that all charges of this type are false and that the person being accused is a victim and the accuser is some sort of gold digging monster and I don't think it is ever as simple as that.  i am sure there are cases but I am also sure that some of these charges that get dismissed out of hand are in fact true.  Some crimes are just harder to prove in a court of law then others.

I am not sure what the point of this post was i just thought I should give the view from where I am stand having seen what this type of thing does to a person, that is all.

Rush to judgement much?

I agree SilverWook. It's way to easy to grab a torch and pitchfork.

We don't know the full circumstances, and may never know.  But one thing is for sure, his estranged spouse has just screwed up his life forever.

News just in:

Stephen Collins dropped from ‘Ted 2,’ resigns from SAG National Board after child molestation confession in audio recordingThe ‘7th Heaven’ star was supposed to appear in the sequel to the Mark Walhberg comedy, but was dropped from the film after news broke that he had admitted to child molestation in an audio recording.

Wow,well I am sorry but as someone who knows someone who was molested as a child and as seen first hand the damage it does I have never been able to over look it and just enjoy the work after news like this breaks.

Maybe it is shallow of me but I don't think I will ever be able to enjoy STTMP or any of his episodes of It's always Sunny again:(

Sad news.  My heart goes out to the victims.

I only got into Twin peaks in the last year. I had seen the odd episode but I had never sat down and watched it. I started watching it after I saw the Twin Peaks tribute episode of Psych. So I may be new to all things Twin Peeks but this news has me very excited.

Yeah I would.  I may be the last person out there who has an audio tape player.

I still have my old Sanyo Walkman, and a double cassette deck in mothballs.

I do wonder if any audio cassette duplication facilities are still around. Are books on tape still a thing?

You have to download them now but they are still a thing if you count that.  Right now I have one of my tape players hooked up to my computer and I am putting all of my tapes on my computer as MP3 files so I can listen to them in the car.

Mild spoilers ahead:

I'm onto season two of Downton Abbey (no making fun of me for watching it...), and while the show is often enjoyable, it's unfortunate that it's such a soap opera. Why can't at least one relationship be stable? But no, everyone's unfaithful in their marriage, or loves someone besides the person they're supposed to be marrying, or loves someone but not the person they're marrying, etc., etc. No one seems to be happy with their marriage, though the reality is that many, if not most, people are able to have a fairly happy marriage without cheating and ruining it. Maybe it's just because the show deals with the aristocracy and that's the norm, but when, for instance, Edith helps out a farmer, why does she have to end up kissing him and being overly familiar, straining the relationship between the farmer and his wife?

Much of what I'm complaining about seems to be shoehorned into the story and out of character for the characters involved. It seems that whoever wrote the episodes felt it necessary to add things like Lord Grantham kissing a maid just for shock value, since it serves little purpose in the story and doesn't jive with his established character. It was foreshadowed a bit, but still managed to feel forced.

Anyway, I realize it's just a show, but I think it would be far stronger and more enjoyable without the above-mentioned aspects of it.

Sadly that sort of drama for drama's saje stuff seems to be the norm on Tv shows these days.  I don't watch the show in question but it seems like every show tries to pull this stuff just for cheap soap opera points even if it makes no sense in context of the story or you would think the characters would know better.  Even Doctor who pulls this kind of stuff these days.  I liked Amy up until the first episode of season seven where they started it off with her leaving Rory(The man who waited 2000 years for her)without telling him why and then we find out the reason is she can't have kids. So she left without talking to him about it,trying to get treatment,or remembering that there is such a thing as a adoption.  It was just done as a cheap shock to add a soap opera plot to series seven.

This sort of having people act out of character and sabotage their relationships thing is why I gave up on Castle.  A show that started out as a fun little mystery show with a some good actors but in the past couple of seasons turned into a soap opera with characters who never talk about their problems and act out of character if it leads to cheap drama.

Why do shows have to do this?  Why when they already have stories and settings that lend themselves to drama and fun adventures do they have to add cheap soap opera elements on top of it?
