Voyager isn't 100% bad.  I mean once in a while it can pull out a good episode like Scorpion or The Thaw, and even the bad episodes that focus on Holodoc are worth watching just for Picardo, it also gave us the Captain Proton episode so I can't completely hate Voyager.

As for Braga I wouldn't be too hard on him, he seems like a nice enough guy who was trying and even admits to the mistakes he made and that is not something a lot of people in Hollywood do.  He was really good when writing on TNG and even did some good scripts on the other shows once in a while.  I think the real problem was he was burnt out.  Paramount cut back on the number of writers at the time he was working and because of that in a space of about seven years he had to write 110 episodes.  Now to put that in prospective that is 31 episodes more then the inter run of TOS, that would burn anyone out.  So yeah he kept going back to the same plot well over and over and that hurt the show but I don't think he was being lazy, he was just given way more work then he could handle and as someone who has been in that place I will not hold that against him. Yeah maybe he should have stepped down but then again in Hollywood a writer never knows where his or her next pay check is going to come from so some times that is easier said then done. He made some mistakes but I don't think he was trying to be lazy and I don't hold it personally against him.  At least his bad scripts tended to be about exploring space unlike the bad scripts of more recent Star Trek which are all about war and explosions.

Why does everyone hate that woman?  Even as a kid I didn't get it.  I mean they refuse to put Toto on a leash and then he trespasses in her garden, digs it up, and bites her. The dog is clearly a danger to others and his owners refuse to train him or tie him up, what was she supposed to do besides going for the sheriff?  As someone who has had a dog who was hard to train and has been attack by a dog that belonged to someone else I can tell you she did what she was supposed to do.  Dorthy and her Aunt and Uncle were completely in the wrong, they do not have the right to destroy Gulch's property and in most states any dog that attacks people will be put down.  This seems to have been a problem for a long time, Gulch wanted them to control their dog and they refused, what was she supposed to do if she didn't want to get attacked again?

I am sorry but going to the law to have a problem taken care of after you are attacked has never struck me as an act of pure evil, i just don't get how she is the bad guy.

Ouch!

I don't remember the Saturn well enough to comment on that one, I only played it in shops when the system first came out and most of them only had Sonic R on their machines so it was hard to tell if the D-Pad was bad or it was just the game:)

The biggest problem is that on a lot of modern shooters the D-Pad is used to issue squad commands, I am sick of things going wrong because modern D-Pads are so wonky that when I press down the system reads it as up.  It's really bad with the classic controller on the Wii, dying in SMB3 because the D-Pad isn't as good as the ones on the older systems is just a pain and one of the reasons I stopped using the the VC and go to the trouble of hooking the older systems up to my Tv when I want to play games on them.

If anybody is interested in me uploading this release to myspleen, let me know.

I don't think this would fly at Myspleen, it being big/new/commercially available/Disney material. All things that they disallow. I'm guessing this would be reported on there pretty fast. A different tracker or site would be better.

hmm, I thought that might be the case. Thanks for saving me the upload time. Those interested in this release can always find it on tehparadox.

Okay thanks a bunch, this is a huge help.

What do you call this release?  I want to search for it and download it.

Thanks again.

I should not have posted the Google Drive link but if you want the case art, there is a link at the beginning of the forum.  The page is in German is it appears to ask for an account and perhaps money but the content appears to be there.  You could also send me a PM and I could send you a copy of what I have.

Okay, thanks a bunch.  Sorry I got confused.

Anyone else remember this?
Time

Watching the movie version of Peabody and Sherman reminded me of something. When I was a kid in the late 80s or early 90s I remember seeing a show on PBS that was about the making of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, it didn't show up on the DvDs and I would like to see if it can be downloaded but I have no idea what it was called.

I know this isn't a lot to go on but if anyone here could help I would be grateful.

Thanks.

I love the box spheretronic, how did you make it?

I should have posted images as well when I posted earlier this week, it might have helped...  My buddy, Buried Egg (youtube channel(facebook link), is a huge Star Wars fan and did pro looking custom menu screens.  In fact he is such a fan that he did a really cool side-by-side of him opening the Falcon as a kid and then the 3' one as an adult!  Anyway, here are his awesome custom menus he made.

My contribution was spending the time and money to put the package together and taking first crack at putting some thoughtful chapter set-points in.  In the end we wound up with some nice looking media that caters to how the two of us would watch the movie and allows us to jump right in at a few key story points rather than the 50+ set-points on the official disks.  It took us about 18 months (working in spurts) to put the whole thing together but I think it was worth it.

If you would like a copy of the package, please PM me and I can stand up my FTP server (much of it is available here for now.)  This one is worth buying the Blu-Ray burner or having a friend with one.  Looks great in my collection!

Wow, that does look amazing.  I like having lots of chapter breaks on my movies and CD so I can quickly get to where I last left off but that is just me.  That package looks so much better then most major studio releases these days.

Forgive me for not knowing what you are talking about but I have only done very basic Bluray burning, what do you mean by 'stand up my FTP" ?  I would love to have a those cases to go with my own Blurays but I have no idea what that means or if I can even do it on my super slow internet connection.

Well if sharing would help, share.

Look at the bright side, at least you had a relationship that could go wrong.  Not sure how much help that is but it's the best I could come up with on the fly.

I recently created an IMAX version of Guardians of the Galaxy that has the changing left sidebar cropped on a shot by shot basis

How did you deal with the randomly shifting vertical aspect that that would create?

The top and bottom were cropped equally by the necessary amount shot by shot to maintain the height to width ratio of the shot, so no vertical/ horizontal stretching at any time.

You can see what I mean about the cropped top and bottom in these screencap comparisons (its easier to see when you view the screencaps in original size):

Please do, that looks so much better then the Bluray I got for Christmas.

The fact that you seriously think she intended to kill that guy negates the validity of your entire argument.

If you can't tell it was only intended to scare him, or that the scene itself was played for laughs and not entirely serious, then your entire perception of the world is alarmingly warped, to put it mildly.

So if it had been a man threatening a woman you would have been fine with it?

If someone came up and did that to you in public would you expect the police to tell you to laugh it off?

So in your view the next time a woman hits on me it is okay for me to pull out a deadly weapon and threaten her life and the police will no right to get involved?  That is good to know.

What she did was a crime and her character showed that she is completely unstable and should be in jail.  The character is clearly insane and has major issues and I don't like her so I will not be tuning in.

If that scene was so funny when is ABC going to launch it's new laugh riot sitcom that is nothing but a man beating a woman's face in with a tire iron.  I mean if threatening to kill a man for one scene was so funny then beating a woman in the face for thirty minutes should be the greatest piece of comedy ever made.

So you think woman should be allowed to murder men in the street if they say the men are sexist? Fine the next time a woman touches my butt in public I will put a knife in her throat and see if the police agree.

Also I have a thick skin for this sort of thing, my favorite companion on Doctor Who is Sarah Jane Smith and you should see her early episodes.

What I saw last night was just so heavy handed it just made the whole world feel fake and made up, I don't care what the message was they were trying to send out I would have still found that they laid it on way too thick.  I haven't seen a series preach like this to the point where it destroys it's own world and does damage to it's story since season one TNG.  I am sorry if this upsets you but I found it to be really preachy and badly written. I'm sorry but it also went so far over the top that it was just painful to watch in a show that was supposed to be fun, every time a male character opened his mouth or did anything I just cringed and it destroyed all mood and sense of fun this series was trying to have, sorry if this upsets you.

Now add to that problem the fact that this series has the standard problems all prequels have where you know how everything is going to turn out and the series lacks all tension and just puts the viewer to sleep.

If they want me to care about this series they need to do something to give it some sort of tension.  I can't believe I am saying this but maybe they need to take a page from Enterprise's play book and introduce a time traveling super villain so we can't be sure how things will turn out and there is some tension.

The fact is the way the series preaches at the viewer is just the straw that broke the camel's back, this series would still be DOA without that due to the fact that there is no reason for the viewer to care what is happening on screen  It's too bad because this was looking like one of the few bright spots on TV this season.
