Really there are too many to list here. I will try to narrow down the list to something that will not take up half the page before posting here.
Pretty much but they are called Betas on the site because they don't make any edits themselves. They just bring up things you need to edit.
I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, given that it's just a fan fiction site but it feels like one to me right now because it is a big help and it feels great to be working with someone for a change.
I am using the site to improve my writing over all so I can become a better writer and get my novels in a shape that is read to be published.
Kind of. They are someone who reads your chapters for you and looks for spelling and grammar mistakes that you missed and comes up with ways for you to better tell your story and just in general helps you with feedback like pointing out plot holes.
I have always been my own beta, rereading my chapters after posting them but it is much easier when there is another person there who doesn't know how you have the story planned out in your head and can bring their perspective to the story and chapter. It really helps with fixing plot holes and making the story more clear.
It is exactly what I needed so I am very happy about this and it is not only making my stories on the site better, but making me a better writer overall.
Oh and I just notice that the still frames from the movie on the back are widescreen format squished to fullscreen so everyone looks really out of shape and tall.
Again, why???
It took more effort to mess up the still shots then it would have just to place them there not messed up, so why do it????
If anyone is interested I posted a video on youtube showing off the worst boxes I have in my collection. Just FYI.
It's a bunch of stock photos that make no sense when put together, and it doesn't reflect the product being bought.
Back before the internet I went into most VHS rentals or purchases blind based on the box art and if I had gotten that, i would assume it a movie made at the time the series was on the air or a couple episodes of the series edited together, I mean Spock is even ten year younger on the back for crying out loud. In short I would be really mad, it's not like there isn't a ton of stock art from the movie out there that could have been used.
What is more they used the movie poster on the spine, so would it really have been too much trouble to just google image search for a bigger version of that???
It makes no sense, seeing as all other releases besides the Bluray just use the movie poster it must have taken them more effort to create this garbage then it would have just to reuse the old art work, so why do it?
It makes no sense and it is ugly and misleading.
Why does this thing exist?

I have only ever lived in Delaware and never been to state that has real blizzards, but the way people here panic over a few inches of snow still makes me laugh.
I finally have a Beta on Fanfiction.net and he is proving to be a big help!
He is helping me become a better writer so I can finally get my novel ideas into shape.
This really is a fun and non boring way to become a better writer if you can't find any creative writing classes in your area.
My goal is to have one of my original novels in a ready to be published form for the Kindle by the end of the year.

While at the Library I uploaded this. If you want to see what I think is some of the worst DvD box art in my collection take a look at this. I may do a second video since I have found some other disc cases that look even worse that I completely forgot about.

Yeah I spent my childhood listening to the motion picture soundtrack(It is still my favorite movie soundtrack of all time)for years before I saw the movie and I kept imagining what kind of epic adventure the movie was set too, needless to say when i finally saw the movie on VHS it was a huge letdown. They didn't really go anywhere, it took forever to get anything done, and Spock and McCoy didn't even argue and that was my favorite part of TOS when I was a kid.
Thankfully I saw VH Followed by WOK a few weeks later and that redeemed the movies for me.
I still watch TMP from time to time because it isn't a bad movie but I can see how after ten years of waiting it was a letdown for fans. I mean it was slow paced and it just retold the same story as an episode of the series. I have a feeling if I had seen it in theaters I would have wanted my $5 back.
Oh yeah that was a brilliant piece of design work and it becomes even more amazing when you consider that it was made for TV, Matt Jefferies deserved to have those tubes name after him and if any Enterprise should be in a museum it's that one since it was the one all others were based on in some way.
That photo came with the record I had of the motion picture sound track and yes it is a thing of beauty.

Good quality DVD's are only so so, as long as you don't get closer to your set.
If you do you'll want to throw them in the trash realizing there is no real detail.
Unfortunately for many TV series and movies there are only DVD, and for others the studios screw up the Blu Ray release.
Oh with Tv shows, it is fine with me when it was an older show that was shot on video tape so DvD is as good as it is going to get but don't get me started on modern network shows where for some reason despite the fact that they are broadcast in HD the show only get released om DvD, CBS and ABC can be really bad about this, then they want you to pay $45 for a DvD boxset where the picture looks washed out and the sound sounds fuzzy compared to what was broadcast. I refuse to do that, I just record the stuff off of the air, I save money and it looks better.
Some DvDs look fine but if it is a movie that is in the public domain or something, good luck finding a disc that will look good on a larger screen.
Yeah you are most likely right. Still that just seems confusing and strange. I guess something changed at some point since by the 1980s the console was painted white and not green. I have no idea what colour Star Trek models were painted at that point.
Still it is an interesting piece of TV triva.

The TARDIS console from the 1960s and 1970s was also sort of green when it looked white on screen, For some reason back then when filmed under studio lights objects painted a certain shade of green showed up as a brighter white on Tv screens then those that were just painted white. I have no idea why.
Yeah well I am one of those picture snobs who notices little details and is bugged by dead pixels so I may not be normal.
Sorry I am not sure what you are talking about so I can't help. All I know is that with upscaling once the screen size gets above 27 inches or so I start to notice the DvDs looking a little fuzzy and that is why I use Blurays. All of my TVs of LCD so I can't be of much help, sorry:(
I have been watching 3Rd Rock from the Sun, I forgot how much I loved this show. The season two final is amazing.

Okay so an obscene gesture that has no impact on the outcome of a game results in a $20,000 fine but systematic cheating results in a trip to the Superbowl and no punishment what so ever.
NFL you have just killed yourself, I for one will never respect you or bother watching any of your games again.
But that is what the NFL rules are there for, if cheating is not punished then what is the point of having the NFL and it's rules in the first place.
I know one thing I will not be watching the Superbowl this year or any other football period until this is dealt with.
Yes it is just a football game, but if it so so unimportant that the rules don't need to be enforced then what is the point of watching the games? The NFL's defense for doing nothing also seems to make the point that I shouldn't be watching their games to begin with so that is just what I am going to do.
Also Star Wars is just a movie but that hasn't stopped any of us from joining this site and trying to get unaltered cuts of the movies released on home video.
