I can confirm it. I am (mostly) out of the country between now and the end of Feb. on a very important gig, career-wise, but Legacy came in on schedule. When I get back, it's to the business of laying it all out on the website (there will be a mouse-over before/after/otherversions thing where you can scroll through every shot of the film), plus more videos and a documentary in progress. But that'll be awhile because of some... well, there's more to the story, yet. :)

Holy shit congrats Mike!

Why "Ben"?

but is in fact the height of obsessive, fruitless fanboy obscurantism because it's all an elaborate solution in search of a puzzle.

"Ben" being the alias isn't any more-or-less an elaborate solution than "Obi-Wan" being the alias.

Yup. The fact that only Luke and Owen (and I guess Leia once) seem to know "Ben" by that name would imply that it is the alias (as opposed to Obi-Wan which is what everyone - those three people plus Vader, Tarkin and Yoda - know him by).

Obviously it's not explicitly stated so it's open a little to interpretation (read: subjective opinions) but if you ask me Occam's Razor says that Ben is the alias.

I know, I know. It's underwear. But doesn't it look A) like Struzan type art and B) bad ass?

Call me uneasily impressed, but meh.

It's not a great picture, but I think it looks pretty cool. Most importantly it looks like it could be part of an even cooler, larger art. Maybe I'm crazy/silly and it's just some undie art, but it stood out to me as something very nice and very Star Warsy.

Never looked at it that way. That Leia responds to Ben has annoyed me since childhood. It might have been intended as you say but the rest of the film (and trilogy) implies that Obi-Wan is his real name. Leia refers to him as Obi-Wan so it feels like an inconsistency within the film honestly. No one calls him Ben except Luke who has called him that as long as he's known him.

Anyway, Obi-Wan chose Ben because no one would suspect he was a Jedi with a boring name like that.

I think you failed to realize that I am doing the opposite of generalizing. I am saying that others are generalizing, while I am pointing out that there are many categories within the umbrella term of atheism. I am in fact saying that atheism is neither a religion, nor is it not a religion. It is a demographic of people who may or may not be religious.

Okay. I see what you're saying. I'll admit I was multitasking while reading your post so I didn't quite realize what you were actually saying and was responding more to warb.

Thank you, I always appreciate this kind of loosy replies. I wonder if you actually read what I wrote. What do YOU know, then? Tell me, tell me :D

I know that I was making a (pretty solid) Game of Thrones joke, mostly in response to the fact that you referred to the chrome trooper as a he, when she is played by Gwendoline Christie (an actress on Game of Thrones).

Also ur opinions r dum.

More seriously though the teal and orange tint that fans are bemoaning is barely even there and it's really just silly to judge a movie based on its trailer. If you don't want to see it, don't. If you don't like the trailer fine, but trailer quality =/= film quality. The trailer got me more excited and that's all. I'm was looking forward to the movie and hoping it would be good before I saw the trailer. Still do. A trailer should not be the basis for you judging whether a film's cinematography is professional or not. Well, it should I guess. The cinematography looks (very obviously) very professional. But if you were making this on your fcking iPhone it would look extremely unprofessional and completely different, despite what you may think.

Star Wars: Rogue One - * Non Spoiler Discussion Thread *
Time

I know I kid.

Is it a big moment? It's a moment for sure, but no bigger than it needs to be for the death of the third to last Rebel fighters left standing out of a group of many. Even if he's a nameless pilot, the fact that his death means there are only two left for the attack run is enough for a dramatic beat.

If we're going by the SE and Biggs is Luke's best friend from back home, the moment probably isn't as big as it should be (Luke's reaction I mean).

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

I was thinking that Rocket Raccoon was based on Jaxxon but I just looked it up and the latter pre-dates the former so maybe it's the other way around? I understand Jaxxon is mainly inspired by Bugs Bunny, but why else would he call himself a "rocket rabbit"? That's not a common expression (Rocket Raccoon is based off the Beatles's "Rocky Raccoon"). Also they're basically the same character, just different type of rodent.

Also, it's kind of sad how short lived Jaxxon was (had to look it up, 16 was his last issue - I'm now 25 issues after that and never got to say goodbye...). At the same time, I wonder if I would even care about him if he wasn't such an infamous character. And why is that? Because he's silly? I think he fits the Marvel SW universe rather well. Is it because he was so short lived?
