Isn’t there a subforum for fan fiction?
Isn’t there a subforum for fan fiction?
Look around you. Star Wars has already been reborn (it may actually be more popular now than ever?).
The ads for the DVD and Blu-Ray releases are right in labeling it “the movie experience of a generation.”
Honestly yes.

This thread is not going to make me feel very young…
I used to think I was the young one here. Guess I’ve been here too long…
I saw them around 97 or so. (Don’t worry, it was the OOT - Faces VHS set.) Have watched them repeatedly ever since.
His last post in that thread is incredibly stupid and I’m having to stop myself from making more replies.
He’s such a fucking idiot I don’t even know where to start with replying. So probably better if I don’t at all.
Thanks for the effort guys but honestly those don’t help. I’ve already been able to figure out which fonts to use through Google. What I can’t find (and what I assume some people here must know) is more specific stuff, like font size and spacing (between paragraphs, lines, words, and letters).
I love how the more open movie productions become, the less people understand about how movie production actually works.
Yup.
Or it’s short for “I could give a fuck, but I won’t.”
That’s how I always read it at least.
I want to bury the hatchet between us and gain some real closure.
Closure is a pretty BS notion, to be honest. People always talk about how, if they just had some closure, things would be better. But that’s not usually the case, because generally, the people who are interested that concept thing are people who will use whatever the “closure” entails (be it one last talk, or one last email, or one last whatever the situation calls for) as a glimmer of hope to continue not moving on.
If you see this person again and they acknowledge that you’ve changed and are a better person now, but still want nothing to do with you, are you any more likely to say “well that’s good, I feel better now”? Be honest with yourself.
The thing is, this person has ceased to be a real person in your mind. You’ve built a person-like construct based on rose-tinted memories, taken a snapshot of a person at a certain time in the world and your life and theirs and taped it to a mannequin. The reality is that they’re no longer the same person they were when you knew them, the same as you aren’t.
Point being: don’t look for closure from someone else, because you probably won’t find it. You’ll put your life on hold for years and years until that day comes (if it does) after which, you’ll move the goalposts down the field for the next few years, rinse and repeat. Accept the past (and your past) for what it was and is and continue moving forward. Find closure in yourself, vow “never again”, learn your lesson, whatever you need to do as long as you continue moving forward for yourself, because you only grow when you move forward.
Maybe I sound like a cunt, and maybe I’m speaking to myself more than you, but it’s the truth.
Very well put, my thoughts exactly.
The CSN debut is an incredible album.
Also, this thread was needed as a separate entity from the “Last Song” thread.
Agreed. It’s so sad when I see people my age and their phones are just a collection of disjointed songs.
Couldn’t agree more.
That’s why I’ve recently lost the desire to burn disparate songs to CD. I want to experience the full albums as they were meant to be listened to, not just the individual songs which appeal to me the most.
Hearing a song alone and hearing a whole album flow are two vastly different experiences.
True, but while listening to a song in the context of its album is usually the best way to go, hearing it by itself or in a shuffled playlist can still be an enjoyable/satisfying way to experience it.
Yes, I know this is a common thread. “How do I makes the crawls?” “Can someone make my crawl for me?” etc. That’s not what I’m looking for.
I’m working with Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. I know how to type up the crawl. I know exactly how to animate it.
What I do no not know (or am not 100% sure of) are the nitty gritty specifics. Font size, spacing, that sort of thing. If anyone’s got any tips or info, it’d be much appreciated. Thanks!
Best part is the TPM name drop.
Now that TFA’s on home video and we can properly examine, I must say I LOVE the gate weave (or whatever you might call it) applied to the all the titles.
Oh shit are those posters official? They look amazing.
The Master (2012) - one of my all time favorites. Not quite on the level of There Will Be Blood (which I consider to be perfect), but still incredible, and unquestionably on the shortlist for Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s best performance.
Absolutely.
If people call EpVIII a ESB rewrite because it’s the dark chapter I’m going to flip shit. Get ready, because it will be the dark middle chapter. That’s how it works. It’s not just ESB.
The “leaked” title is almost 100% BS. Don’t get worked up about it.
Return of the Jedi has a double meaning. Until you see it, you’ll just assume it’s referring to Luke. You might even speculate it’s Obi-Wan. (I know an early draft had him returning from the dead physically.) But you won’t know it’s really about Vader until you’ve seen the movie. So it’s actually kind of a brilliant title.
Jedi is also singular and plural.
Honestly don’t see why this would get him banned. He’s been posting like this for as long as he’s been posting.
Because he needs to learn when to dial it down?
I just wonder if that’s even possible for him.

This is the most annoying you’ve ever been frevious.
I’d say it’s about par for the course.
I hate to agree with frevious, but it’s a fucked up world we live in when we take the victims’ sides second. Because in reality that is what is happening most of the time.
Ever heard of a fraternity before?
Harrison didn’t have any standout moments in terms of acting in ROTJ. Even the “worst” acting in TFA is on par with his best in ROTJ. Plus his acting in his scenes with Leia and his scene with Ben is perhaps the strongest we’ve seen Harrison in a Star Wars film
Pretty much sums it up.
They’re working overtime to make sure Thor’s solo is interesting this time. Great cast. Hope it’s good.
Hey all,
I’m new here, but I was wondering if anyone is able to recreate the opening crawl of THE FORCE AWAKENS. It’s a silly thing, but I’m rather annoyed by the different font for the title compared to the previous films in the series. Look at the “O” in FORCE to see what I’m talking about.
Does anyone here know how to do this? PM me if you do.
The font is not different. It is different when compared to ROTJ and the prequels. But the font is identical to that of ANH and TESB.
Yeah I knew ESB but I just realized ANH myself. Only difference with TFA is it’s just a little thicker.
Just look at the capital R from the title cards for TFA and ESB. completely different
Edit: the text in the article is different from the shots from Adywan. Which is right?
Definitely ady’s. The pic in that article is fan made (notice “Has” and “Vanished” capitalized).
Ady shows that TFA and ESB’s font’s are damn near matches (looks to me like they’re the same with TFA’s just a little thicker).
It’s funny how people are going crazy over this small detail and calling it wrong when it isn’t really You’d think if people were being nitpicking about small details they’d notice a small detail like ESB’s font being “wrong” too, even though it was the first film to have a subtitle. This article even shows the two side by side but never once realizes they are the same: http://www.slashfilm.com/the-force-awakens-opening-crawl-is-wrong/
I guess when JJ and co. decided to “try very hard to duplicate” the original, they had some crazy idea to duplicate the font of the film that originated the subtitle. How dare they?
Also not entirely sure but I think ANH might have the same font as TFA and ESB. Which would mean of course that the three best movies have it so everyone should shut up about the other four as if they’re somehow more “right.”
