Yes, because I didn't use the 2004 mix at all. Only the 1993 stereo and 1977 mono mixes are used.
Cool, 2004 video with older (non-sucky) audio. I'm loving that.
Those bloody bastards <g> Actually though, I am pretty surprised that they wouldn't let you have a menu-less raw version just for your project, it's not like you'd be releasing theirs before it was done.
Nope! Do I still rock?

I asked TR47 for Cowclops 2.0, but he's not sending it out yet. I decided that considering what I'm doing, it wouldn't make all that much difference really! The laserdisc shots tend to pass quickly.

I'm thinking about it.
Ok yeah, you still rock.
But I'd like to see eps 5 & 6 if you get ambitious.

Luke has no one to teach him further, since there are no others. That is unless spirit Yoda & Obi Wan can train him.
I originally thought (back when RotJ came out), that Luke was a true Jedi Knight and he could now train more (a la all Dark Forces/Jedi Knight video games to follow).
But from what you guys are conceding is that he's not very good, and all he can pass on is his limited knowledge. That's depressing.
Whereas I WANT to believe that Luke was suppose to be as powerful and knowledge in the force by the end of RotJ as Anakin is by Ep 3.
And although his training is accelerated, his ability to master the force so fast is a result of being so strong with the force (stronger than his dad) and the one who REALLY brings balance to the force.
So in the one case we have Yoda 'graduating' a half-assed Jedi and on the other we have Lucas unable to go full out when filming a saber scene.
I think I can live with the latter much better.

But I have re-thought this of late and I do have one complaint with the OT and it's been brewing since Episode 1 came out.
The lightsaber battles in the originals are a bit sedate compared to what you'd think/hope a jedi duel might look like.
This is most notable in ANH. Obi Wan and Vader fighting it out on the Death Star is so low key, it looks like a couple of geriatrics fighting with canes.
I mean come on. Look at Anakin go in Eps 2 & 3. He is a force of nature with that saber. Now pop in RotJ and see him fight it out with Luke. (Ok you swing, I'll block, now my turn.) Or worse, go watch the afore mentioned Obi Wan/Vader battle. It's sort of sad looking.
Now I'm note sure I'd WANT to see these movies altered more, and I don't even know if it would be POSSIBLE to fix this at this late a date, but would you all want to see the Jedi's actually fight more like the newer trilogy?

Did you correct the screwed up channels in the 2004 score, and why didn't you wait to use Cowclops 2.0?
I think the serious problem is going to be that the original TR47 had color artifacting from it's capture to DVD conversion. This will no doubt be enhanced by the use of MiniDV.
That being said; you rock! Should we expect Eps 5 & 6?

It's another subscription torrent service, but any member can make a new torrent not just with permission. Torrents can also be designated as member only or public.
It's VERY active. I like it for some of it's more obscure stuff and good community.

The truth is, you'd never notice it unless you stood up and measured it.
Not to say it makes me happy, but I had them for years before I ever knew.

We can hope he's done screwing around (unless he now wants to make Ep. 1-3 updates to conform with ep's. 4-6. Then I'm all for it).

We've got a rare Sunday post for you with a bit of new Star Wars DVD news. At the Celebration III convention in Indianapolis this weekend, George Lucas let it slip that a new DVD box set of all 6 films is in the works, possibly to include an all-new bonus disc containing deleted scenes from the original trilogy. Expect no further changes in the films themselves. In addition, don't look for a high-definition release of the films in 2007. Lucas also confirmed that the digitally-screened version of Episode III will be slightly longer than the traditional film version. You can click here to read more at The Force.net. Note that the story contains what some may consider to be a slight spoiler about the upcoming film.
Sounds like new DM Special Edition in '07.

I actually was reading up today on converting PAL to NTSCFilm and then letting the DVD player convert it to 29.97 fps on playback. Pretty slick stuff.

I just cannot remember at all where that was.
Heck it was BEFORE the Special Editions were even being made.
TV special or something, I'll keep trying to figure out where...

Her eyes were hurting so she couldn't read "the notes" onscreen .... I wound up pausing the film a lot to explain to her about the guy who was originally cast as Wedge, about the violence that got cut out, about the Trench run, about the Wampa door and Luke and Leia kissing and Luke's blue saber in ROTJ and Blue Harvest and all that ...
Um, looks like I'm going to need a commentary myself. How about a 2nd audio track in the future?
