The opening scene (young Jyn) is 6 years after ROTS, the rest of the movie is 19 years after ROTS.

Both A New Hope and Rogue One are set 19 years after the Galactic Empire is set up. That occured at the end of Episode III. In Episode IV, Leia herself says “Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars”.
If the Clone Wars ended 6 years later, we’re still talking 13 years of Imperial rule.
I do appreciate your comments and push to make this the best it can be.
The clone wars have been over for nearly two decades, so I didn’t want to reference them as they have no connection to this story.
Yeah but the opening scene takes place just a few years after the end of the Clone Wars (I’m a little bit unsure of the new SW chronology about that).
Ummm that would be like saying Operation Red Dawn was last week. If I’m not mistaken, the Clone Wars ended with the fall of the Jedi.

They revealed his lineage early on because they knew it was obvious.
We’ll that’s one opinion.
I’ve always felt that was a mistake that he removed his mask during interrogation. It was unnecessary. It took away from the scene with Han at the end. That would have had MUCH more of an impact since you get his real name, know it’s his son and Now see his son’s face.
I was ok with the “rhyming” plot, but the reveal is what ruined the movie for me initially. JJ is great, but he tends to reveal things way to early. Perhaps this is a product of making TV shows for so many years?
The lightsaber duel one is pretty good (I didn’t watch with sound though). I’d get rid of the ridiculous spin though. Just cut after he ignite his saber.

I was wondering about that, since I only released it with a 5.1 mix. I have noticed that 5.1 mix downs to 2.1 or 2.0 can have the issue you mentioned.

For the same reason Adywan did. You’ll also noticed that Empire and Jedi don’t have the red tint. Consider this in line with Revisited and the majority of the OT.
While it’s a neat idea, I’m a firm believer in the less is more approach to Vader. I thought Gareth Edwards nailed it visually. It felt very much like the scene of the back of his head in Empire.
Any updates on the BD25 version of this? 😃
