KING KONG - The Spider Pit Restored Cut (Released)
Time

To coincide with Peter Jackson’s remake, Warner Bros. has just released a 2-disc special edition of the original King Kong. I picked it up the other day & was pleasantly surprised to see that it was packed with extras

Among the extras was a ½ hour documentary on the lost ‘Spider Pit’ sequence. For this of you who don’t know, this scene is the holy grail for Kong 33 enthusiasts. It takes place after Kong shakes the sailors off the log. Apparently, some of them survive the fall into the cavern, only to be devoured by giant insect-monsters. This scene is in the original script, and there is evidence that it was filmed and once part of the movie. However, the scene was cut, and through the years the footage has been lost, and has yet to be recovered.

While working on the remake, Jackson & his WETA crew decided to take the knowledge that they had of this scene & faithfully re-create it. The scene is about 5 minutes long, and was completely re-made & dulled down to match the look & feel of the original King Kong. The scene is included in its entirety as a bonus feature, but not inserted into the movie…until now…

Devilman-1369 is proud to offer to the trading/preservation community

Turmoil in the Toybox (Released)
Time

A long time ago (early – mid 1980s), in some dudes living room, a religious crusader by the name of Phil Phillips decided it was time to educate the world about the evils of children’s entertainment of the time…

Turmoil in the Toybox is described as ‘a shocking exposé’ revealing how seemingly innocent children’s programming & toys such as He-Man, She-Ra, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Rainbow Brite, The Care Bears, The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo, and yes, even Star Wars are turning the youth of the day towards Satanism

This is not a joke, parody, or farce…this guy truly believes in what he is saying

Needless to say, after laughing through this dudes ludicrous, paranoid rant, I knew that this long out-of-print VHS gem, had to be preserved.

So now, I am proud to offer for trade, Devilman-1369’s DVD preservation of Turmoil in the Toybox (v1.)

Specs: 4th gen VHS rip (I challenge anyone to find a better quality source for this… please) custom menu, and bonus feature: ages old web cartoon of Winnie the Pooh worshipping Satan (if anyone knows who actually made that cartoon, please notify me so I can give proper credit)

Turmoil in the Toybox: The Book is currently available on Amazon for $.01

i'm happy to see this project up & moving again.

Since it's been a few weeks, would it be possible for you to post a current list of the resources you have for this project. That way I, and others that are watching this thread/project, can see what you do & don't have & could possibly offer additional materials.

Thanks, and WELCOME BACK!!!!!

Help Wanted: WWII style edit of ANH - I need a title for this!
Time
This is a fantastic idea, and i'd love to be a part of it.

I have a friend who is currently going to school in Germany...i don't think she'd have any trouble picking up the Holy Trilogy & sending it to me in order to get this off the ground.

She's also fluent in German & a SW nerd (like the rest of us here) & could probably give a listen to the German audio track, and tell us if/how it differs from the american version.

e-mail me off-list if you wish to discuss this further

But Cold Case has a very clever writing staff. Did you ever see The Rocky Horror Picture Show episode? It was extremely well done. If they plan on doing a Halloween-esque episode, it shouldn't prove too disappointing...And they'll probably throw a few 'in-jokes' into the episode for the hard core Halloween fans (again, like they did in the RHPS episode)
