I want Dooku to have a brief cameo in TPM and to have Maul be redubbed using Witwer, and some implication Maul survives his faul.
I’m also personally against having Qui-gon’s bet free Shmii & Anakin, it’s not stated as such in the films or TCW, but one of Anakin’s core frustrations with the Jedi is their refusal to let him go rescue his mom and end slavery on Tatooine.
In the Ahsoka novel, we get a scene of Obi-Wan after he has visited Shmii’s grave for the first time and he’s reflecting in the shame he feels for having failed Anakin. And the text explicitly says that he feels an even deeper shame for having personally stood in Anakin’s way to keep him from coming back for Shmii.
I know that sentiment is not in the movies, or TCW, and isn’t likely to be in OK either, but it’s also a really easy inference to make, imo.
Re: Rey’s Sith eyes, canonically she was using the Darkside at that moment, the novelization makes that clear. So using it here, even in just a vision, is totally fine, imo.

Hmm. Prior to Kenobi, I was under the impression that all the Inquisitors were killed by either Vader, Cal Kestis, Ahsoka, Maul, or Kanan. I’m not remembering if Reva was in the comic that chronologically introduces the inquisitors into new canon or not.

I’m really excited for this, I know it won’t be perfect, but Star Wars never has been. It’s always been cheesy space pulp, and that’s what I expect.
Really digging the shift to how the New Republic is depicted here, less overtly cowardly, just overwhelmed because they didn’t listen to Leia in time.

Having just watched a compilation of Anakin being screwed over by the Jedi from The Clone Wars, I think I want to use your change in my RotS edit Sade. After everything, it makes sense for him to that conclusion, as awful and heartbreaking as it is. And because in my edit we also see Ahsoka dealing with the same doubt and making a different choice, it still carries the supernatural evil vibe as well.
I wanted to ask if anyone else thinks fixing the first 15 seconds of this scene seems possible? I think in terms of effects it would mostly be stabilizing the blade and finishing the rotoscoping of the floor as Shaak-Ti falls. Once that’s fixed, adding music and cleaning up the audio should be fairly straightforward. Thoughts?
There’s also no way Leia would retire short of the war ending. She was raised as a soldier in the rebellion, she’d never give up the fight while it was still being fought.
TCW:R is such a cool project, and this is a movie that really only work with TCW, so why not intentionally pair it with the best version of TCW?
I like using that shot of Leia and everyone’s reactions to her being unwell.
I was wondering if you’d be up for rewording the crawl a bit to make it clearer that she’s unwell because of the attack on her in TLJ?
Maybe something like “General Leia Organa, weakened and ailing after her near-death experience, guides Rey in her quest to become a true Jedi Knight.”

One of the things I really dislike about most EpI edits is how they cut the opening, specifically I love the underwater sequence and I wish more people kept it in. I’ve always found it exciting, rather than a drag of any kind.
I want a version with HAL’s Labyrinth of Evil alternate ending.

It’s definitely aimed for the movie only perspective. I think when you watch just the trilogy those characters don’t have the same level of attachment. Thus the play for emotion seems like a bit of a reach - I’d prefer to have Order 66 be a moment where we keep ratcheting up the tension rather than pausing for a cry. Instead we wait until the end, and bring in the waterworks for Anakin’s immolation and Padme’s death.
That makes sense.
I quite like the Imperial March over Order 66, instead of the reused Federation March. However, idk that with cutting the massacre of the other jedi that it carries the same emotional as the original sequence. But maybe that’s because I’m a major Clone Wars fan and the other Jedi are important in that show to an extent.

So it’s not June, but I finished writing my grad thesis and I’m feeling very fandom invigorated atm, so I’m gonna talk about v3 briefly.
First off, my SSD with my editing stuff on it is not working fully and I need to take it to get the data recovered. So all this will be a ways off.
First, I’m planning on releasing both a normal movie version and a version with opening and closing modeled after The Clone Wars: Refocused. Either way this is a version of Episode III that only works if you’ve watched Clone Wars. It’s just about presenting different watching options.
Onto the content:
I’m gonna be going in for more changes to the RotS NCC material.
1: Changing the focus of the Padme/Anakin reunion from her sharing the pregnancy to Pasne being worried he was dead and Anakin not wanting to hide the relationship. He sharing the pregnancy will be moved to the Bad Batch arc of TCW.

2: Changing Anakin’s dreams from Padme dying in childbirth, to premonitions of Padme, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan all in danger. This will also involve changing some of Anakin and Sidious’s dialogue. I think this is necessary because of how TCW emphasizes these relationships. Anakin has extreme response to these three in danger, that I think that the fear of losing all three would push him over the edge.
3: Adding back in Anakin talking to Yoda about his dream. I think him not getting any help from the council, who has repeatedly failed him when it comes to Obi-wan and Ahsoka, is a necessary push for his willingness to go to Sidious.
4: I also want to try replacing Anakin killing younglings with Anakin killing Shaak-ti. I think it’s possible to fix up that deleted scene and his anger is at the council and I think at this point in the story that’s where we should see it directed.
5: A few other minor nips and tucks to make it flow better and make it a more enjoyable experience. (I do really like having the 31/2hr movie so probably won’t change that,but other things…)

A: Obi-wan is coming.
P: No, that’s not it. There’s something else.
A: It’s Rex. I’m worried that he’s letting his personal feelings drive him too much on this mission.
P: I wonder where he got that from?
(Cuts away to Obi-wan/Rex)

Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga features the Clone Wars cast for the Prequel Trilogy, and their version of the “I’m pregnant” scene doesn’t have Padme say those words, instead it’s just:
P: Ani, something wonderful has happened. (rests hands on belly)
A: Oh… that’s wonderful.
So I was thinking that maybe with some edits to the Clone Wars scene, we could get this:

Then when we get to RotS, I would just cut the dialogue with her saying she’s pregnant. The focus would be on her thinking he had been dead, and Anakin not wanting to keep hiding their marriage.
