If you have seen it, can everybody who has just agree how much more sense it makes? The 2003 series’ Wrath is CONVOLUTED AS HELL (SPOILERS Oh, look! It’s a kid who was a failed human transmutation who is actually successful and was sacrificed to the Gate of Truth in a ritual that required sacrifice to make him in the first place and turned him into a weird black baby who took Edward Elric’s limbs to live in our world in an island for years until the Elrics’ found him, and yadayadada END SPOILERS), and the twists at the end are just too much for my brain to process (Parallel worlds? Nazis? Couldn’t Ed just kill himself to return back to Amestris? This doesn’t count as spoilers because knowing the twist before is better than going in blind).

I would recommend reading the original comic of FMA. If you have to watch it, then watch FMA: Brotherhood. The 2003 series surpassed the comic and just wrote it’s own story (which is why Brotherhood was made, in a way).

Way to stereotype an entire genre. Guys my age grew up watching anime on tv before we even knew it had a name. I can’t be the only one here who watched Speed Racer, Battle of The Planets, or Star Blazers?

The generalization he made is the exact same generalization that Frink and Tyrphanax have been giving as “proof” that all Japanese animation is objectively terrible.

He probably just watched this.

No one should do that…or know about it.

It is the one scene in the series that I actually despise the English dub of. Not that I care to watch it in English anyway, but that’s how I first watched it.

I thought anime connoisseurs preferred subs instead of dubs.

Most people I know prefer dubs (unless it’s unbearably horrible, like pretty much everything done by 4kids).

I personally prefer Japanese with English subs (maybe with the exception of Steamboy, because that’s about English people in England, and it’s actually a well done and well cast dub).

So, do you hate the leather suit because it doesn’t show off the bewbs, or do you just hate leather jumpsuits? Or is it the lack of a real mask? Or is it that the hair is tucked in? All of the above?

It’s lame, generic, unimaginative, uninspired, etc, etc, etc.

Reasonable. I was just curious if there was a specific aspect(s) that made it your “most loathed”.

I would have to say that my favourite Catwoman suit is:

Followed by the one in B:TAS.

Hahahahahahaha.

Some people never grow up, apparently. Either that or their target audience consists solely of immature boys.

???

I guess I missed the joke.

Nah I didn’t listen to that piece of shit, just wanted to add to “Worst Album Covers” list.

I’ve literally made better album covers than that using MS Paint.

It looks absolutely horrible. The worst thing about it isn’t even how horrible it looks, but rather, it looks cheap. It’s like Times New Roman Font on a solid background with low-res jpg files.

Looks like Arial font. Honestly, I don’t think it would look nearly as bad (yet still almost equally as cheap) if the images weren’t there and it was just the text.

Cast Away (2000) - 6/10

Mostly enjoyable. Tom Hanks was pretty good. I hated how the film skipped ahead four years, as I think by showing those four years Chuck Noland could have been better developed.

The film is already 2 1/2 hours long, I think showing all that time would’ve made it too long for the theaters to want to show it 😛.

LOL so true. I tend to avoid all anime other than Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra but I don’t even think those even count.

Yes, they count.

Anime
noun
Word used to describe cartoons originating in japan, comes from japanese word Anime, meaning “Animation”

Avatar = American =/= Anime
Korra = American =/= Anime

Color me intrigued 😛. I suppose I have been misinformed as to the origins of Avatar. It’s not something I ever watched or cared about, so I really don’t know much about it.

I was just watching an episode of TOS on Netflix (S2 E13: Obsession) and suddenly it had what seemed to be the original effects, rather than the updated CGI version. It’s never played the original version of any episode for me before, so I was pleasantly surprised to see this. However, the next episode (S2 E14: Wolf in the Fold) is the updated version. Anyone else experience anything similar?

Yeah, Netflix only has the original version of Obsession, and it’s been that way for a while. I’m not sure why. I think I mentioned it somewhere on here before, but I’m not sure if it was in this thread or not.

I just wish they would replace the rest of the series with the originals.

Man, everyone here is so defensive of their animes. Most of my friends watch plenty of anime but when I make fun of it (or them for watching it), they all laugh.

I’m just tired of the two people on this forum who care that some people enjoy Japanese media; they care so much that they have to bring up the fact that they don’t like it all the time. They also insinuate that viewers of such media are inherently immature.

Are you allowed to watch anime if you don’t own any fedoras? Serious question.

Yes.

For the record, though, I do own a fedora.

But, do you wear it with a suit or with a t-shirt and jeans/shorts?

I generally don’t wear it at all. I bought it originally because I was dressing up as Tom Baker’s Doctor Who.

I think I’ve worn it with a suit (the Doctor Who outfit I got it for), and I think I’ve worn it with my casual wear a couple of times when I was outside in the hot sun for a long time.
