I’m trying to understand this Papa Murphy’s pizza, at first I thought it was a pizza chain restaurant, but now it sounds more like a Digiorno frozen pizza at the supermarket kinda deal?

It’s a take out pizza place. You go there and order a pizza, they build it out of fresh (not frozen) ingredients and then you take it home to bake in your home oven. It’s honestly not inconvenient at all.

I’m glad it won Best Picture over Boyhood.

How dare you say that. Didn’t you know it took 12 years to make?

moviefreakedmind said:

It’s common on the internet for people to pretend that Boyhood is a bad movie and complain about it even though they haven’t seen it because a couple of homeless youtube critics didn’t like it.

I’m not complaining about it being bad. I’m joking about the pretention that someone wasting 12 years to shoot a movie inherently makes it good, which was a joke among people who actually didn’t like it after watching (can you tell I’m an RLM fan?). I haven’t seen it and I have no interest in it beyond mild curiousity.

EDIT: Also the RLM group (if you weren’t referring to them sorry for misunderstanding) is far from a bunch of homeless youtube critics. At least they’ve actually made some movies. I don’t know if they’re good though because I haven’t gotten around to watching them.

I’ve been watching RLM since before you finished elementary school. I just find their shittiest and most unfunny and irrelevant meme obnoxious because it’s overused and not funny. It isn’t a joke among people who actually didn’t like it after watching, it’s a joke told by people who haven’t seen the move but saw RLM tell the joke, like you.

Because they definitely didn’t use that joke again after the initial review? Oh wait, they did. It’s a joke that they made, and occasionally it pops up again. That’s generally how inside jokes with friends work. Of course fans who enjoy the joke continue to make it when relevant in some way. I don’t see how it’s obnoxious.

They created that joke after their original review and also ran it into the ground in their unfunny and over-the-top follow up video that is similar in humor-style to the Ghostbusters remake. They gave the film credit for being an interesting experiment in their initial review. It’s obnoxious because it’s not funny. At all. It’s also obnoxious because it’s just an example of the cult-worship that I wish RLM didn’t have because they’re a great channel, but the fans’ worship of them annoys me. I think it annoys them too based on some little comments they’ve made.

They’ve mentioned the annoyance of youtube comments overusing the “is Susan replacing Jay?” joke, but I guess I don’t remember them alluding to much else. And my brain just mashed the follow-up video and the review together, so I apologize for my faulty statement. And they have referenced that joke after that, such as “it took 12 days to make” or something like that in a Best of the Worst episode.

And I don’t think the fact that I’m younger than you or that you’ve watched their material for a longer time than me is relevant to this conversation.

It was because you were telling me about RLM’s great accomplishments. By the way, my homeless person comment is pretty similar to how they would make fun of themselves.

I couldn’t remember if you had been a fan of them or not, so I was just clarifying that they do have trustworthy opinions where film critisism is concerned. And when they make fun of themselves, it’s all in good fun. You made an offhand comment referencing them in a negative light, conversing with several people who don’t watch their stuff. There is a small difference in the way that may be perceived.

But IT TOOK 12 YEARS TO MAAAAAAKE!! How can you just sit there not watching it!?

Exactly! That’s why I’m so excited to watch

BOYHOOD

Wow, hilarious.

Exactly.

I find it funny, therefore by rule of Frink, it doesn’t matter if others are annoyed.

The fact that the author said he would rather have Pizza Hut is almost proof that he’s just plain wrong. Pizza Hut is disgusting. Little Caesar’s is a lot better than that crap. Though maybe my memory of Pizza Hut circa five years ago is faulty.

Anyway, what Ray said. I’ve never encountered a pizza that wasn’t cooked to near perfection outside of my own error (like not hearing the timer and forgetting to check the oven). The take ‘n’ bake system is actually great because the customer is able to bake the pizza however well done they want it, instead of getting a half burnt pizza with pieces that tear eachother in half because they weren’t cut properly from a fast food chain.

You guys think Papa Murphy’s is great? A place where they don’t even bother to cook it for you? And it’s average even after you have to cook it yourself?

Ok.

So cooking a pizza in your own oven is somehow terribly inconvenient for you?
And it’s better than average. It’s very good. It’s great. It’s not “best pizza on the planet” but I haven’t had enough different pizzas to even have an opinion on that. Maybe it’s Pizza Planet.

Well, they are all children, so I’m inclined to suspend my disbelief when a bunch of fictional talking dinosaur children say some silly things. I love the dialogue exchanges in the film. There’s a lot of character. If they didn’t talk, the film would not be interesting, there would be no characters, and it wouldn’t even have a plot. You’ve successfully removed everything that makes The Land Before Time The Land Before Time when making it “better.”

If you were going to make a Film or Films. What Aspect ratio, Lens, Camera, Genre, Style, etc. Would you use. Thread
Time

I would have to decide on the aspect ratio depending on the tone and visual scope of the film. That’s the sort of thing where I have no preference in particular.

I would want to reach every genre and style of the films I love eventually. Nothing specific that takes my interest over others.

EDIT: Not responding to above post.
