It's 2005 now, y'know... how's that hunt for Bin Laden coming along?

No clue. None of us do. And THAT'S what is wrong, not the fact that we went in to begin with. An uninformed public is dangerous.

The point is that it was NOT a mistake to go in there at first. Four years and many lives later, it IS a mistake to the best of my knowledge because we don't have any info- only dead soldiers.

They just don't stop do they?

Yeah, darn it, Bush really has to stop killing these justices like that. He won't quit.

They overtook the white house, the courts, brainwashed over half the country, started a war, and now wish to conquer the world!

Typical liberal attitude. I'll respect your stupid opinion when you provide some basis in fact. Conquering the world

My simplified opinion: I think that we were right to go over and fight the terrorists/Taliban and bring them to justice. We DID NOT start the war- the suicidal Al-Quida maniacs did that. The fact that we've stayed over there for so long is troubling, however. If Bush has a reason for doing this (besides oil), he apparently doesn't trust the public with it and I don't like that. If I was the father of a soldier that was killed in Iraq, I would be EXTREMELY upset because I still wouldn't know what we were fighting for.

So I disagree with Bush on his handling of this. But I didn't say they "started a war and now wish to conquer the world"; nothing personal, but that's just plain stupid.

Info: A new edit (The Lost Cut - it was a prank; but some good info in here)
Time
I want to apologize to everyone in here for getting their hopes up. My friend is a moron with a really bad sense of humor. No, he does not have this “Lost Cut”- he doesn’t even have a recreation. I asked him for details about the disc, he asked why, and I told him I talked about it in this forum and that people were interested. He started laughing.

He made the whole thing up, and I’m so mad that I came on here and made a fool of myself because of it. I should have kept my mouth shut until actually seeing it for myself. He’s a member on this very forum- he’s a Greek guy who joined late last year. What an idiot.

I’m sorry, guys. I guess it doesn’t exist, then. Please...no hate mail. I'm sorry.

Are you saying that you have (or your friend has) a copy of THE "Lost Cut" that was edited by John Jympson before he was fired and replaced by Richard Chew and Paul Hirsch?? I have heard rumors of Lost Cut bootlegs but I never believed them. Or is this a fan edit meant to replicate the Lost Cut? I wonder if this is actually Deleted Magic... or a joke.

The Lost Cut? I seem to remember hearing about that before. I assumed it wasn't, mostly because I thought the title was for a reason and it wasn't readily available.

Hmmm...Any WWII aerial combat footage standing in for unfinished FX shots in this thing?

I have no idea. I'll have to ask him.

I've never actually seen this disk. Once I get my burner running, I could ask him to borrow it and then burn a copy and send it to you to identify it. The only problem being that the disc is probably dual-layer and I only have a single layer burner. Maybe I could put it on two discs in different parts.

That would be the holy grail of holy grails. My God, I don't care what the quality is, and while we've seen some the footage...the entire lost cut...uh yeah, anyone here on this forum would give their first born to see that.

Wow- had no idea it was this rare. If it's what you think it is, which I don't know. It did seem weird that the editor would degrade the picture and the effects for a new edit- maybe it was an attempt to make it look old-fashioned.

But I repeat- I haven't seen this. I don't want to get your hopes up if it turns out to be fake.

A friend of mine says that he just got a DVD of a new edit of Star Wars from some dealer through the mail. He says it’s longer and it has different music and was edited by different people. He says that he wasn’t too happy with it because the editor (who calls himself John Jympson) put in a lot of extraneous scenes that slow the plot down. It was also irritating because the whole thing was in black-and-white; I told him he paid too much for it.

Apparently the quality is awful to begin with. However, I thought some of you fan-edit collectors might be interested because this is a lot longer than the original version and it has some new scenes. Han kisses someone else in this version, the end battle is all messed up, they put the original “furry” Jabba back in (probably from an SE documentary), Darth Vader’s voice is weird, and all the special effects look like cartoons (he says the lasers look like little arrows). Some edit! I’d rather watch the 2004 DVD’s (and that’s saying a lot).

But it has got some deleted scenes.

ROTS: A particular movie...
Time
Guys, understand that the last thing I wanted was a thread discussing where to find bootlegs. I was just interested in differences between workprint and final film (and maybe digital version), that's all.

ROTS: A particular movie...
Time

So…let’s say that there’s a particular movie I was thinking about downloading (it’s about a guy that abuses his wife because he thinks that she betrayed him). I’m thinking about downloading it, but I’ve heard that there are 2 versions- a workprint version never released theatrically, and the theatrical version with no timer on the top of the picture.

Is there any difference whatsoever in the workprint version that would warrant a download? Visually, deleted scene-wise, incomplete FX-wise, music-wise, overall sound mix-wise; does anyone know whether there is more than one version of this “particular movie” at this point?
