I know you guys said you aren't accepting any more Blu Ray donations, but is there a chance you might make a second run for both versions of ANH?

I would like to but I have switched to a different set of blanks that I will be using from here on out after I use up the old ones and there is only an option for a 50 pack spindle only, so it is not worth it anymore for you guys now I am thinking, these are what I will be using for BD25's.

If that's the case, what are the odds we could, say, PayPal you money and you could send us a slipcase?

(I just like things to look nice.) :p

Harmy's 2.0 of RotJ Despecialized is going to look amazing with this stuff.

I think the footage will look amazing all by itself, no need to mix it with the official BluRays.

Well that goes without saying. It'll be interesting to see what people do to these new scans. Dark Jedi, You Too and Mattman Omega got a startling amount of mileage out of the GOUT. Just think of what could come of others tinkering with this.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

During my spare time I can't help but pop the DVD-9 of v2.1 in and, geez, it's almost hard to believe how good this looks. I mean, it's not surprising seeing that 90% of it is taken from the Blu Ray, but good God it's almost staggering. I can't wait for the scene selection in v2.5 if only so I can skip to the Mos Eisley sequence more easily. :p

So again, great work Harmy.

I confess I'm oddly excited for your Special Edition Blu Rays. Admittedly I don't agree with a lot of the SE changes, but they were my first introduction to Star Wars and as such they have a lot of nostalgic value to me.

Two questions: what have you sourced them from, and whereabouts in the thread have you posted screencaps from them?

Thanks!

A query for Harmy regarding v2.1: I was watching your documentary about the project on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHfLX_TMduY) and I'm wondering if 2.1 contains the Team Negative1 35mm footage you mentioned. I don't see it among the list in the first post in this thread, and I haven't found a specific mention of its inclusion in the remainder of the thread (though maybe it is here and I skipped over it during one of these 389 pages).

Just a little something I'm interested in figuring out.

Jesus, it's amazing how the grain can bring out the definition in Owen's pores (pores being the standard by which I assess HD footage, I'm embarrassed to admit). It looks great!

Not to derail this thread ten posts in, but does anyone know if this was the same method Harmy used to diminish the digital noise reduction in the Blu Ray footage for his Despecialized Editions?

Notice in the Wampa cave scene, the BD footage goes black from time to time, that's where there were frames missing and I had to fill them in, sometimes through slowing the shot down using AE's "pixel motion" frame interpolation but sometimes also by cutting out and animating the separate elements (this was done in the shots that are in the picture comparisons).

Yeah, what is with that? Someone in the Star Wars thread said that the official Blu Ray mastering is poor, but actual missing frames?
