The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

A little nice tidbit I found while browsing online is that Rian Johnson missed a detail to Luke’s death during the filming of TLJ. When Luke “became one with the force”, his robotic hand would “clunk” to the ground, and apparently he missed that. So when Luke comes back as a force ghost, he might have one hand missing. Just a little thing I wan’t to share.

The Last Jedi : a Fan Edit Ideas thread
Time

Well, I’d drop my 0.02 in about the jokes and what to cut and what not cut.
-For starters, I would like to cut the “can you hear me?” joke, it removes the tension from the first act, and does not give the audience time to change emotions when Paige dies.
-The Luke and Rey antics at Ach-To, I personally do not like Luke throwing the saber, it kind of makes Luke more of a dick, and it also breaks the tension. But if that was meant to break it, then they executed it horribly. From memory, if you cut that joke out, then it leaves a bit of a continuity error where Rey suddenly picks up the lightsaber from a different place.
-Some jokes that I like during the Luke/Rey scenes were the “Jakku is pretty much nowhere” joke and the “I can feel it” joke. The first one shows Luke’s naiveness and that it reminds us that he is still the same guy who whines about going to Tosche Station. The second joke is also of similar note.
-The BB8 antics are too reminiscent of the Prequels and the Droids cartoon, and also gets annoying at times.
-During the battle between Hologram Luke vs Kylo Ren at Crait, he brushes himself off in a sarcastic way after bombarded by AT-M6’s. And I think it does not need to omitted since it shows his cockiness and again, reminds us of the same Luke Skywalker in the OT.

Well, thats it.

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

Quick review: Bottomline “Too many (attempted) deaths” Finn attempts to kill himself by going commando to the lazer, General Holdo goes lightspeed on the Star Destroyer, Leia goes Superman, Paige does suicide on the bomber, Snoke dead looks like Jar Jar on a plate, Luke goes out Yoda-style, Rose gets injured, etc.

Another thing that seemed useless to the plot was the codebreaker thing, and also the very end where that kid goes Harry Potter on a broomstick, felt unecessary and was only there to add easter eggs to die hard fans. Overall 9/10 bottomline. Just a quickie after getting out of the theater, also might make a more detailed review after I get a camrip of that movie.

Episode VIII : The Last Jedi - Discussion * NON SPOILER * THREAD
Time

I got spoiled by scrolling down my Twitter Feed. I just finished my 3-day exam that totally blocked the Dec. 13 (I live in the Philippines) release date. and This dude just popped up into my DM’s and asks about why -REDACTED- is -REDACTED- and so on and so forth. I hope that certain spoiler is very minor, though for you guys who have seen the film, it rhymes with Willy Wonka has a double decker bed. In case that the mods want that rhyme taken down, then that’s fine by me.

Idea: A sensible Han Solo rescue attempt plan...
Time

Hi everyone! I am working on a ROTJ edit that helps strengthen the first and third act of the film. Now, since this is in the early works there is not cutlist yet. But after tinkering around with other movies for quite some time, I would make a leap to start a fanedit. I just reposted this from fanedit.org just to get more attention. Hope this can be improved.

Here is my (very early concept) plan for Han’s rescue attempt, since the original plan (or would it even a plan) made no sense and relied too much on luck, or the Force perhaps.
Now, this is pretty much a bunch of failsafes, but hopefully It might be improved upon.

Before we get into this, we must have knowledge that Lando, Chewbacca and Leia are in the palace and giving the inside information to Luke.

The preliminary plan: Artoo and Threepio are gifted as messengers to Jabba and R2-D2 displays a hologram of Luke pleading to settle a deal with Jabba, in turn giving Han Solo back. Now, Luke knew Jabba wouldn’t let him off the hook that easy, so he smuggled a lightsaber in R2-D2 that would later come in handy for Plan B.

Since Jabba did not accept his request, but took the two droids, plan B would have to established.

Plan B: Luke would enter Jabba’s palace to mind-trick him to giving back Solo, and if that would not work, then he would need to kill Jabba.

During the execution of the actual plan, Leia had her own plan as well. She would make use of harmful sedatives that would later on, be released into the main room. She would also make use of her helmet, which had a double-purpose of being a gas-mask. She would then sneak across the room and un-freeze Han from the carbonite. She would also let Chewbacca wait outside to get Han and the droids, however it failed miserably. She and Chewie were later caught and Leia was forced to wear a suit that would be engraved into each Star Wars fan’s brain for the rest of their lives.

Lando told Luke about this and he was forced to modify his Plan B. Using the information that was gathered by both Lando and Leia, he had to become a prisoner, and be sent to the Sarlacc Pit just to fight to the death.

Since Luke also once lived in Tatooine he totally would have known about Jabba and his public executions at the Sarlacc Pit. This knowledge gave more advantage to him when he actually would have to be thrown in the pit himself.

This plan wouldn’t have been put up so easily without some people who have indirectly helped me make an edit as ambitious as this. Those people are NeverarGreat, nhoj3, ray_afraid, jarbear and other people who attempted to make ROTJ a great film before me.

How did you first see the Star Wars films?
Time

My father made friends with a local theater owner, and we got to watch all six films in 2006, I believe. At the time they had prints of the OUT, except for ANH, for they had the 1981 version. I’m pretty sure they partially restored those pints at the time I was seeing it, because there were very few missing frames when I first saw it.
