Blue Harvest Hexology (Released)

Someone let me know that Episode 5 wasn’t working for them, so I’m going to re-upload that one soon.

At the same time, for ROTS, I’ve decided to re-insert the scene of Anakin saying farewell to Obi-Wan before he heads off to Utapau, as well as the scene where Padme presents the Petition of 2K to Palpatine.

Because of the above, I’ll be re-uploading ROTS and TESB.

Blue Harvest Hexology (Released)

Please excuse my extra edit, but I tried out that title idea.

Here is a sample:

Honestly, I really like how this is turning out so far.

This really makes me feel inspired to go back and superimpose a title each time a new planet is introduced.

sigh With each good idea, there’s more work to be done!

Blue Harvest Hexology (Released)

Please excuse my double post.

I would really appreciate people’s thoughts on these fan edits.

What changes are you enjoying?

What changes are you disliking?

Good or bad, I would love to see some feedback.

May the Force be with you, everyone!

Off and on, I’ve been thinking about something.

During the Order 66 montage, would it be better if there were superimposed titles?

They could be placed somewhere like the top left of the screen and be formatted like “Jedi, Planet.”

Like this:

I’m kind of on the fence about this kind of edit.

On one hand, I feel like it’s awesome to provide this kind of info for viewers who are new fans of ‘Star Wars.’

On the other hand, it may make this space opera film feel too much like a mainstream movie.

Blue Harvest Hexology (Released)

Finally, I’ve finished uploading a collection of six ‘Star Wars’ fan edits that I prefer over anything else, all with my custom style of light blue text crawls.

The Prequels are more or less my take. For Episode 1, I used the edit of AOTC by HAL9000 and made some more adjustments that I think make it a lot more watchable, mainly deleting any and all cringe scenes with Anakin and Padme; I even inserted the two best sequences from ‘The Phantom Menace’ as flashbacks.

There’s also a mid-credit teaser for Episode 2: Labyrinth of Evil, which basically introduces Ahsoka Tano, shows us a montage of Anakin and Ahsoka being bad-ass in the Clone War, and then shows a story concerning an attack on the Jedi Temple, which is the significance of the title.

Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith is a roughly three-hour compilation of Ahsoka Tano’s Siege of Mandalore and Anakin Skywalker’s climactic turn to the dark side of the Force.

For the Original Trilogy, I took my favorite fan edits of each film and seamlessly inserted my style of custom text crawl. ANH was edited by IlFanEditore; TESB was edited by Adywan; ROTJ was edited by IlFanEditore.

By happenstance, I already sent out one PM with links to all six of these.

Everyone can still feel free to ask for links and then enjoy a six-movie marathon!

The Star Wars Fan Edits Request Thread: Request the links to Star Wars fan edits here

I’m not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I’ve picked out my favorite fan edits for the OT.

For ANH, it’s fan edited by IlFanEditore.

For TESB, it’s fan edited by Adywan.

For ROTJ, it’s fan edited by IlFanEditore.

I’m working on implementing my own custom text crawls to each for a complete Blue Harvest Hexology.

Lately, I kind of wonder, is there a fan edit of TESB that might become my favorite of its kind?

Did you plan to take your edit, and make a fan edit with Clone Wars ?

If NFB doesn’t do this, then I absolutely will once NFB’s is complete.

I’m actually working on that, if you wanna check my thread:

I actually already did that, but I applaud your efforts!

Worst Edit Ideas

Last night, while watching a fan edit of A New Hope that I added a custom text crawl to, I actually thought of making a change to the Cantina sequence.

The change I considered making was to remove all the shots of various aliens all over.

That idea came from a slight misunderstanding of what the scene is about.

It’s NOT about showing off special effects for alien creatures and such.

It’s a scene from Luke’s point of view; he’s been sheltered as a moisture farmer, and he’s just NOW stepping foot in the greater world and seeing what variety of races there are in the Galaxy.

Episode 2: Labyrinth of Evil: The Blue Harvest Saga Continues (Released)

In this fan edit, I basically did my best to replace the 2008 Clone Wars movie with something more epic in scope.

We start with an opening text crawl in a light blue hue, of course.

In the Battle of Christophsis, Anakin receives his own Jedi apprentice, although he is baffled by this and even frustrated with her antics.

At the end of the battle, he tells her, “You wouldn’t have made it as Obi-Wan’s Padawan, but you might make it as mine.”

Then, there is a montage of six scenes of Anakin and Ahsoka being bad-ass throughout their adventures in the Clone War; an important feature of these scenes is they show them growing and playing off each other as well.

Later, we see Ahsoka rescuing Anakin from an assault of buzz droids sabotaging Anakin’s Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor.

Soon after, both are requested to solve a mystery regarding a bombing at the Jedi Temple, the sacred home of the Jedi.

At the very, very end, there is also a post-credit scene that ties directly into Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith!

Episode 1: Attack of the Clones: Blue Harvest Cut (Released)

Recently, I finally cut together an edit of ‘AOTC’ I finally feel is watchable.

You read my title right, I moved ‘AOTC’ over to Episode 1 in the Prequel Trilogy!

First, I started with the edit by HAL9000 as a foundation and made adjustments from there.

Toward the beginning, there were several scenes that I felt continue for longer than necessary.

For instance, after the bombing on the landing platform, I made sure we see Padme’s reaction and then wipe to the next scene.

Also, I played with a clever gimmick where I used a scene’s establishing shot to reveal a snippet of dialog, and then swiftly cut to the meat of the scene, while seamlessly continuing said dialog.

During the montage of Anakin searching for Shmi, I realized I felt awkward about the placement of the shots. I ended up with the following:

  1. Anakin speeding through canyons.
  2. Anakin receiving directions from Jawa in front of Sandcrawler.
  3. Anakin flying past rock formations with more intensity.

This time, I also used music by Two Steps from Hell, specifically the instrumental version of the song “Victory.”

Let’s see, what else? Oh, yeah.

Also, I inserted a mid-credit scene.

During the Battle of Christophsis, we see Anakin receiving his own Jedi apprentice, even though he’s always been against having his own. Ahsoka insists her instructions from Yoda were specific, and Anakin is baffled.

Cut back to credits.

That is teasing my in-between-quel, Episode 2: Labyrinth of Evil.

Also, I implemented a custom text crawl with a light blue hue.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. I hope some people may be interested!
