TMBTM's "The War of the Stars"; a Star Wars "grindhouse" cut (Released)
Time

Im a bit stoked that you have done this TheManBehindTheMask after seeing what you did with Jaws. Many thanks goes to p_indrail for that.

I always make a point of thanking the maker/provider for distributing it for free. 2 bad others who are very interested just grab it "semi" anonymously, then cant be arsed sharing it regardless :-(

Your vinyl record collections
Time

A mate of mine in work thrives on vinil in work, and i guess deep down, i guess im beating myself over the head every time i listen to him talking about what he picked up from a charity shop, and every time i look at this thread! I really need to have to hear Ultravox's "Vienna" on LP before i croak on a high end sound system though (none digital only).I guess that maybe easy enough to do on e-gay, perhaps.

Though dare i mention MP3's sound quality in this thread at all.................??

I have no idea, but it can't be much... right?

I don't know exactly, it's somehow embedded in the video track but compared to the rest it can't be that big.

70K on District 9 Ultimatum (mind you thats a dedicated srt file without menu links and stuff). If you want them, translate em and post them to the man i guess.

Im working on the Welsh language and the Backstroke of the west subs straight away ;-P

AVATAR and 3D in general....
Time

The 3D is stuninng. Expecially in the breifing room and outside the prison cell. But its the almost the same technology as i viewed in Captain EO years ago. Its not really 10 years worth of technology at all. And Cameron aint invented it either.

Im a big Cameron fan, but i was a little let down with a visually stunning, tree hugger story. 6 outa 10 Darth Solo stars (i viewed Parnormal Acitivity directly after, and rather enjoyed it alot more 8/10 Darth Solo stars there. Speaks volumes about filum bugets).

I cant help but think T2 would have been awesome given the total 3D treatment.

Conclusion is i actually like the 3D thing and would love to see it converted to older filums maybees...

Same on the trailers CA.

Im not going to get any oppertunity to see it in IMAX so that would be a great experiment chainsaw.

I dont like the current bombardment of 3D media we're getting here in blighty, when all we get is the green and red specs of yesteryear to view it with (marketing push?).

The last chance i got of to see any technical evolution in 3D that didnt get plugged half as much was with Captain EO, and it looked monochrome through the goggles. It was mainly unconvincing, and technicaly underwhelming in the same way the green and red goggles were.

Friends raved about how incredible the Terminator 2 thing was in 3D, but after seeing it in 2D i believe the 3D thing was the real selling point of experience. I wouldn't, and havent gone out of my way to experience that given the chance since Cpt EO.

Now, i sigh with the advent of 3D high def TVs, and a whole new list of studios going 3D with their future releases.

Avatar has a hell of a unfounded benchmark to set, and most of my work mates aint even heard of it at the this of wrighting.

So, if it is all its said to be (other than a marketing push) im still luke warm/bordering interested, based on the probible mixed reactions its going to no doubt get.

Does that mean 6 screens for Sith, or -3?

How would that be even possible???

Id love a 3 screen setup so i could do the wing mirror thing in driving games (ala Buggy Boy). I guess the technology would be wasted on me, as i wouldn't be remaking a mastrpiece of cinema history with it, and just lookin at pyorn three times as much as i do now. :-)

But 6 screens would start looking like spider vision too me.

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

The way i see it is that there are 4 types of followers here. Ranging from the totally open minded and love everything thats just Star Wars, to the extreme hardcore un-changed OT fan that doesn't want the films changed in anyway but of the highest quality (I understand Ady got some friction when doing ANH:R from this group aswell in the early days). I think most of us loath the SE's changes, but will embrace "some" changes for the better (thats always going to be walking a bit of mine field, as GL may have found out after the release of the SE's and the birth of tu net). That group gets split almost 3 ways with 3 filums. ...Well, 2 ways mostly, but most want to look on it as equally as 3 ways /:-P

I love Jedi regardless as i read the book before seeing the filum, and its the only time i haven't ever been dissapointed by doing so (erm, i guess i loved everything Star Wars back then).

Conclusion being then, erm, yeah, why are you here? (Not directed at any1, just a concensus).

I knew that look rang a bell, but couldn't put my thingey on it....

Bigger, badder, bad-ass imperial transports, expecially in that scene always gets my backing savmagoett (if your maths are right??).

I also want to keep the AT-ATs visor red as it reminds me of Kitt :-)

Sorry to hear about your parents current misfortune Ady. These things hurt us, but they always pass. Be strong now for them, as i am sure you are currently trying level best to do.

I aint getting involved 4 once.

Damn, i hate being the first poster on a new page.

Urm...Empire, lets pimp it up ;-/

Ideas to folllow.....and stuff

-Although, i go for a DAMN no way on removing the Lambada shutlle from Jedi. Its the most georgious space-ship ever designed, and we get get to see the most of it Endor (i get your way of thinking, but i have seen the the shuttle with an alternitive design, so I urge you to think of some sort of of a work around when you get to Jedi). Thats just messing with the OT too much. But thats another totally seperate project from here.

My o my, its quite interesting to see how quickly we are embracing the industries new technology.

Is there ANYONE able to send me a copy of ANH:R on betamax tape and a Super HD copy, so i can compair image quality?

Gotcha covered on the Betamax (Hi-Fi even). What's your address? ;)

I've considered making a full-frame VHS-quality version of Revisited, just to imagine what an alternate reality version of my childhood would have been like. Sounded like a fun project.

Im actually liking that idea for some strange reason, joking aside. I can do a VHS cover (Imandix dont cover those previews though).

Retro-to-go!

Is DVD in the early stage of becoming retro now?
