Dude, she just a girl, and I mean girl, not woman. Story? Bah. If folk who haven't been writing as long as this old hack can come up with better, more cohesive, more logical storylines on any old SW message board, then something is wrong. ILM can run rings around other outfits when they want to, but AOTC's effects feel empty, devoid of meaning, resonance, and life.
But GL would never agree to a Criterion OT. He still thinks of them as "rough drafts" not fit for public consumption. Can't violate that artistic vision, can we?
I bought the 1995 tapes, and I didn't have a VCR at the time. I kept them in the closet for almost two years before I finally bought one. Right now, they're sitting on a shelf next to the TV. I don't remember the last time I watched them, and I guess I haven't watched them because I'm a little scared the VCR will eat them one day.
Yeah, Erich disappeared one day, not sure what happened. (I need to take down that link. )
All this adulation for my blog makes me want to post to it more often. And I'm still working on the Gandalf/Yoda thing. Plus, I think they'll be something on how the Yoda/Dooku fight itself violates some of the most basic rules of mastery and battle. May be a little dry.
Thanks for the welcome! I'll try to post more often.
As far as leaving TF.N, I got three years of sweat equity over there, helping make sure the basher voices won't be silenced. And you can thank Chefelf for those reasons to hate TPM and AOTC, and he's going to do a hate list for the DVDs, too.
As for the marriage proposal...I'm flattered, but it's probably safe to say I'm much too old for you.
I'm a regular at TF.N, and, believe me, not everybody there is enamoured with these changes. The pro-changes people are just the loudest, and getting more outrageous the closer we get to 9/21. List me among the Embittered. I haven't seen any of the leaked stuff, and I never will. I already know too much about it.
