LOL! Too right! GL seems to have a great deal of trouble with female characters as a whole. He starts off strong, then they fade into the background as they go along.

The PT dialogue sounds like it came from someone who's just started out writing. Taking down the first thing that comes to mind and not taking any time to find something less trite.

But the OT did have it, at least in ANH. In a few lines here and there, and especially in the Death Star conference room scene. But it was so economically done that you didn't have time to be bored by the talk. Plus, it was broken up by Vader's little demonstration of the Force.

I was about to say that. The dialogue changes? Not sure about those, but I heard in some cases the audio had degraded on the original print, so they replaced it (in the case of "You're lucky droids don't taste good").

You can never go through all of them.

How about when someone has to go downtown in a big city and they manage to find a parking space right in front of the building with no problem?

The hero is in a dark place and they wake up whatever nasty thing lives there, usually by turning on a flashlight/lighting a match. And the thing is right behind them.

Don't you love it when the escaping bad guy stops for a few seconds to shake his fist and say something like "You may have won this round, but I'll be back!"?
