These are amazing, definitely my go-to’s for the books from now on. The ambience and music from the films really do transform these into a truly magical experience.

EDIT: If I find some time, I may try to see how it looks to cut it out and stitch the scene together … I think it’s just ambient sounds and not music, but I gotta check to remember.

Agree this mystery mission change is good, its a shame we don’t see Cassians intro scene in this edit as knowing he will kill in cold blood if ordered would make this reveal all the more tense.
I also very much like the original Rogue One and think its theatrically fine as was intended on release, but those deepfakes added to Hals V2 won me over from the original version, this can no longer be called a half-assed edit 😁
The less changes the better but still looking at TM2YC change list if there were to be any fixes to use:
Reordered opening act, which I felt was choppy in the original version. Now we do not return to older Jyn until it’s time for her to be rescued and time for her story to begin again. Death Star scene has also been brought forward to establish the threat, before we see how others are responding to that threat. I think these changes make things clearer.
-Hals removal of Cassian in the beginning to better follow Jyn is understandable but that scene is a missed
Altered blue-milk shot so the camera pans with Lyra’s movement across the kitchen, instead of zooming right in on the milk, which I found to be distracting.
-subtle yet effective
Removed distracting fan-service cameo from Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba.
-Already fixed in V2
Removed a few seconds of Bodi dithering too long over the ‘Rogue One’ call sign.
-Already fixed in V2
If more aggresive changes preferred then best off with TM2YC Rogue One edit.

Hmmm, it’s an odd thing. I’m not sure how any of this works, but I noticed the colors looked diferent back when I tested merging the shots to a full scene, even though the clips would look fine on playback.

Also, I have a huge list of fan edits (including this Mandalorian fix) that I will begin crafting/uploading as soon as my new computer arrives. I’ve got a Last Jedi edit that I haven’t been able to complete due to computer issues but it’s about halfway completed on my current computer. After that is finished, I’ll start work on my definitive edits for the rest of the series. Pumping out a Mando edit should be easy compared to these movies 😃

Well honestly it’s to say I changed something while I was fixing the graphical issues. But, I always felt the chess cameo was a little distracting and unnecessary.

Also for anyone getting V5 use the instructions in FAQ just need to wait awhile when at “Preparing to Download: Zipping 1 File” on Google Drive, can confirm it still works as recently used this method myself.

I appreciate each edit you made, but I love hearing someone understand the movie and its intentions. Normally people dismiss the movies message but you really hit the nail on the head, especially with your comments on luke.

You’ve mentioned you have no intention of modifying your edit now but could I just ask why you didn’t consider adding some of Hals updates he used to your film edit below.
(Also wondered why Hal didn’t use other changes here like Knife Continuity Fix in his edit come to think of it🤔)
Reinstated a modified version of the balcony scene overlooking kids and horses being beaten, though removing strong hints that Finn and Rose will be able to act upon the town before they leave
(Helps pacing and also builds on Finn and DJs talk about good vs bad sides when on ship)
Added Emperor laughing over Luke’s vision as he gazes into Kylo Ren’s mind in flashback
Removed Snoke saying he would destroy “the entire island” on Ach-To (seems odd without having established Caretakers live there which Rey cares about)
Removed Rey’s triple-TIE combo shot, with the Falcon’s involvement in the battle being first revealed with its shadow sweeping by and a single TIE being shot down
The shot of the rebel alliance insignia ring at the very end has been removed, since it ties into a sequence removed from this version of the film
(Hal credits you for this change but you didn’t use it in your own edit?)
Again not expecting anymore changes to your edit now with you being busier these days just curious to your thoughts on these changes.

That would of been me several pages ago who implied showing Leia more responsible for the Hans apparition, its in my mockup vid “Rens Redemption” (below) among other ideas I threw out there but these ideas are a bit too much of a change for Hals edit though…

I’ve got 2 updated PoA scenes for everyone today. #1 is the updated Knight Bus scene. This was done to more closely match the original bus scenes better. #2 is the updated After Hogsmeade scene. I’ve added music background music, adjusted coloring, tweaked Harry’s face turning red, made one addition there, and removed the duplicated dialogue from the moving staircase scene that follows.
Was you able to complete your intended improvements in the end JJ ?
