Info Wanted: Which version is this?
Time
3 part interview with Lucas (by Leonard Maltin) is from the Faces laserdisc set.

"Making of Star Wars" wasn't in the Definitive Collection, however it was released on laserdisc in the USA & Japan.
RowMan made a DVD using Rikter's capture of the USA disc.
Dr_Gonzo used baby hum's capture with burned-in Japanese subtitles. Menu screenshot is on russs15's site (the link I posted above.)

Interview with Ben Burtt, walk through with Dennis Muren of the At-At Walker sequence, storyboard to film comparison of the asteroid chase, etc. are not on Dr_Gonzo's Empire disc.
Your cover might list them . . . but you don't have Dr_Gonzo's cover! You gave a "link" to Dr_Gonzo's cover above, and went on to say yours is different than that one.
Dr_Gonzo put the interviews on a fourth disc (as I stated earlier in this thread.)

Why are you so reluctant to believe you have copies of the LOOK discs ? If it LOOKs like a duck . . . .
Sure, somebody could have "borrowed" the LOOK menus, but what difference would it make ?
Already you've learned enough to know you've got a Frankenstein set -- cobbled together from various bits & pieces.

Help Wanted: an MP3 of the 1.0 mono mix from the pre-ANH projects?

Gregatron, is that the Region 1 DVD you're talking about ?
If so, that'll be much easier for Belbucus to use as an EQ reference rather than trying to obtain a copy of the German laserdisc track which he asked about in this thread.

Info: 2006 GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM Sound?

You got more out of it reading a second time ?
Well then, maybe the third time's a charm.

Pay close attention to the highlights I've added:

I have done a full digital transfer of the DC/Faces audio with side change gaps patched to sample accuracy - upconverted to 48k in ProTools HD, which I have found to be a very transparent scheme. I have not yet verified that it is identical in timing to that of the DVD, but it would be unlikely if it was not. And, if for some reason it WAS off, that can be fixed.

I also have a cut a very high quality analogue transfer of the Dolby Stereo (35mm) mix from P&S Laserdisc – also at 48k. It also has all side change gaps patched, as well as all previously documented problems fixed. It has not been timed to match the DC/Faces track yet, but I will probably get to that as soon as I finish up with the monomix . There has also been some interest expressed in the ’85 remix , which is relatively low on my list, but I will get to it eventually.

Originally, the plan was to prepare all 4 mixes to run in sync with video from the DC/Faces Laserdiscs, and make them available to the group. Hopefully, the DVD will be identical - if not, it can be adjusted.
DC/Faces audio + Dolby Stereo (35mm) mix + monomix + '85 remix = 4 mixes

MBJ confirmed it himself in this thread.

I think NSB's must have been analog capture, since these sites say that particular Stardard Play laserdisc (Cat# 1130-84) didn't have any digital track.

dark_jedi's capture of his '85 laserdisc (Cat# 1130-84) has it.
[Before anybody objects, the '85 VHS release featured the remix, but the '85 laserdisc had the original mix.]
segaflip posted it to alt.binaries.starwars on 08 August.

segaflip also posted Neil S. Bulk's lossless audio-only capture of the same on 2005-10-17.

Technically it's not "exact" since it must be resampled from 44.1 to 48kHz. Software is involved. If it's buggy software . . . "garbage out" as they say.

I think Cowclops did a better job with his audio the second time; however, I don't think he ever said which method he used.
If anyone else can find quotes from Cowclops, I'd be interested to know for sure.

MeBeJedi's ANH prototype (seeded by Blaksvn@myspleen) has a PCM track which he ripped from his Faces set using his Pioneer 701's optical fiber output.

Just to be clear, Moth3r's set doesn't have PCM. (Although Doctor M did use Moth3r's video. Maybe that's what Number20 meant to say.)
Also for clarity, "coax" might refer to analog or digital. Arnie.d used the term in analog context, but my DVD player for example, has a digital coax port.

That administrator sounds like a childish dipstick. But, I must inform you that there is something very wrong with releasing the films in a non-anamorphic format.
If I didn't know better, I might think you just attacked a person whose opinion you agree with.

Info Wanted: Making a 5.1 Original Trilogy Sound Mix?

As far as I know, the only Dark/Sega collaboration has been to preserve the Japanese Special Collection laserdiscs, not the '97 SE.

Maybe you're thinking of dark_jedi's '97 SE preservation?
According to russs15's site those have DD 2.0 sound.
It seems dark_jedi did analog capture rather than a digital rip of the 5.1 track.

Classic Edition: The Empire Strikes Back by Ocpmovie (Released)

Which Classic ESB would you like to see put ?

The one segaflip posted to alt.binaries.starwars ?
The one MoveAlong posted to alt.binaries.starwars ?
The one Metallaxis seeded @myspleen ?

They're all different.

I think tygerbug@demonoid should make the .torrent file himself.
Others could help seed it, but they wouldn't have to guess which (if any) of those versions represents your "original vision"
