The Puggo Edition - webpage and screenshots (Super 8 transfers - Released)
Time
Files MoveAlong posted from the disc Puggo sent:
; 51200 12:26.35 2006-12-10 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP
; 51200 12:26.35 2006-12-10 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO
; 5353472 12:26.35 2006-12-10 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.VOB

Files I posted from the disc boba sent:
; 51200 13:23.37 2007-01-06 VTS_01_0.IFO
; 5351424 13:23.37 2007-01-06 VTS_01_0.VOB
; 51200 13:23.37 2007-01-06 VTS_01_0.BUP

Different dates (newer), different size for the VOB, and different SFV checksums for all three.

boba, do you think it might be possible that whichever software you used to copy the disc Puggo sent
could have changed the files even though it wasn't your intention ?

Info: Returned, and still working on XP77...

I also have the audio from the DVD; this is the same as the 2.0 mix from 1984 and prior home videos, am I correct?
No, the bonus DVD (known around these parts as "GOUT" - George's Original Unaltered Trilogy) contains the '93 remix used on the Definitive Collection laserdiscs and "faces" LD & VHS from '95.
Belbucus, the same fellow working on the mono mix restoration, has already finished a restoration of the '77 Dolby stereo mix (the one found on pre'85 home video releases.) He's captured it from laserdisc and digitized it using professional-grade equipment, cleaned it up, and synchronized it to match the GOUT video. See this thread for details:
GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM sound?
In spite of it's title, that thread also contains discussion about the '85 remix as well as the '77 Dolby stereo mix.

Welcome back!

The "EditDroid" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

It was frustrating then and still is today.
Eventually the EditDroid team posted official artwork and DVD-ROM contents to usenet. That was very kind of them.
But when it came to VIDEO_TS contents, some of the files posted to usenet didn't match their torrented counterparts.
They had different SFV checksums. Still to this day we don't know which, if either, are correct.

Maybe nero was unable to order the contents because there's files inside the VIDEO_TS directory which don't belong there: _spcLB.bmp & _spcPS.bmp.
Furthermore, the files which do belong in VIDEO_TS aren't ordered in compliance with the DVD-Video spec.
They're ordered as BUP, IFO, VOBs (alphabetical order) when they should be IFO, VOBs, BUP at the end.

Apologies to JD for cluttering this thread.

Could someone post the "Star Wars Special Edition Making of Documentary DVD"? Thanks.

Which one was this?
Bonus DVD from this set
would be my best guess, based upon IrishLuck1980's earlier request in the a.b.starwars thread.

I was planning on doing an HD2DVD of this, but for myself,I didnt think there would be any interest for it
Theatrical cut of a film that's never been available commercially ?
I think there would be plenty of interest for it.

Preserving Live Albums

LAME is a top quality MP3 encoder which can generate gapless files, given the proper encoding parameters.

Foobar2000 (among others) can recognize the gapless playback tag in LAME-encoded files.

The most accurate CD ripper, especially for CD's in less-than-perfect condition, is Exact Audo Copy (EAC) hands down.
It can also burn CD-R's in Disc-At-Once mode (i.e. gapless).
If you have LAME installed and tell EAC where to find it, EAC can rip your CD directly to MP3 files in one step.

All three of those are freely available, so the "i" people don't get a penny.
